"I went to their website and it clearly stated that they deal with tax abatements. I contacted them and received an email from them asking for the property address for the abatement. I replied with information and received an email containing a DocuSign stating that I would need to pay online $325 in advance regardless of the length of the meeting up to an hour. I signed and paid online. I then received an email to set up a phone consultation. I felt like this matter required an in-person meeting to go over paperwork that I had. They did schedule an in-person meeting and shortly into the meeting the attorney informed me that they didn't do residential abatements. I feel like this could have been avoided since they knew in advance where the property was located. I feel like I paid $325 for a service they knew they didn't provide. This seems like a poor business practice and that I was misled and taken advantage of. Edit: I have contacted three other attorneys and all of them spoke with me over the phone concerning my issue about tax abatement, gave me information on whether they could help me and what to expect if I proceeded with them and they did this for no charge. This confirms my opinion that Alfano Law Office is not a business I would ever recommend. They are all about the money whether they can help or not. Edit: They did reach out to me after they read the review and they did credit my payment back. I would hope that in the future they could avoid this type of situation by either clearly stating on their website what abatements they handle or somehow communicating with the client to be sure they could provide the service required before taking payment."
