Reviews of Upper Valley Aquatic Center
"Management at UVAC is very professional, down to earth, open-minded and compassionate towards everyone's unique situations. UVAC thrives on helping to achieve physical, mental and emotional well-being in the Upper Valley."
"Been coming here for almost two decades now! Very reliably friendly staff and clean facilities! I love the lifting area where there are sufficient squat racks and plenty of space! Lots of machines!! Although it is a bit pricy for a day pass, I think the month to month is reasonable!"
"This place is very much adequate for you to get in and get your work out done. Everyone seems to mind their own business. They offer classes and they have a large pool amongst other amenities like a sauna. Definitely recommended"
"We are a family of 5 with young and middle teens. We moved to the Upper Valley two years ago, and really missed the YMCA pools where we used to live. Unfortunately our financial situation is quite difficult right now, but UVAC to the rescue! They have a needs based financial assistance program, and we qualified. I have to say that the facility is clean and organized (locker rooms are spotless with staff walking through to check regularly), the staff is welcoming, kind, and helpful. We truly asked for a hand up (not a hand out) and have never felt like a charity case when at UVAC. We've enjoyed the pools, and the waterslide (!!), and even branched out into the equipment areas and weight machines (BTW-you get a free tutorial on how to use the weight machines and we worked with Parker and they were amazing!) We really appreciate the opportunity to belong to this wonderful facility. Our only complaint is that it's a solid 30 minute drive from our house...but that's on us!"
"I've been a member here for about a year. Membership is a much better deal than paying daily. Hartford, VT residents (Villages of Quechee, Hartford, West Hartford, Wilder, and White River Junction) get discounted memberships, and they also have support with the fees if you need it. I have a home in Wilder so I do get the discounts. The swimming area is really nice. They have a competition pool that is very large and deep. It is comparable to a competition swimming area at a university. They also have a warm water pool with play areas, water slides, the lazy river, and other things. They have good lifeguard coverage. All of it is inside so it is available all year. Apparently it is even properly grounded against lightning - I was allowed to swim during a major thunderstorm and they mentioned the lightning protection when I asked. The place also has a indoor gym with a weight area, weight equipment, and aerobic equipment. It has a good selection of equipment, though sometimes you do have to wait for it. That's all included with the membership too. They have many events geared to children and young adults. The kids I see always seem to be having a great time. It also looks like a great place to work as a lifeguard. They do need lifeguards; when I joined and mentioned I had previous lifeguard training they tried to recruit me. Staff there are really nice all the time. They are different from other health clubs I've experienced in that they are MUCH nicer at closing time than any other place I've been to."
