"I had the privilege of photographing Emily and Tyler's wedding at this breathtaking venue this summer! The natural light in the greenhouse ceremony space is stunning! Very spacious reception hall as well. Very friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend this venue!"
"Short version: Find someplace else that knows how to treat guests well. Long Version: Where to begin, we arrived a bit early as we were not sure where the place was and rather than be late we chose to get there early. When we bumped into some of the groomsmen, the they were outside enjoying the beautiful day, one passed a flask to another and that's when things headed south. The "general manager" came over and demanded the flask be turned in saying they would return it at the end of the night. (it was) since we were early I was hoping the restaurant would be open, it was not so I couldn't go in to grab a water, but they had "infused" water in the greenhouse, as someone that only drinks alcohol on special occasions Ibdrinkba lot of water and nothing I dislike more is when fruit is cut up and put in water for drinking. Rarely if ever are the pesticides washed off completely so as a rule it's bottled or tap. Since my choice was limited I opted for a glass of spiked apple cider. it helped the thirst but I'm not going to swill down multiple glass so I ended up drinking the infused water. The setting is typical north country beautiful with view of the mountains, the beautiful experience though ends its the views. Ceremony starts and is short thankfully as it was a sunny 72° fall day in a greenhouse with front bck and sides open but roof vents. closed, not unbearable but it would have been better outside or open all vents to let the heat out. Off to the Barn, we get the bride. drink, I get a plain water, about time, we mingle get some of the charcuterie, nothing special, three different Italian cold cuts and some cheeses with some crackers sitting in the sun. no place clean to sit, see the pics. After my wife finished her drink we go inside to get her another drink, and at the insistence of my bride I order myself a drink, I drink Bourbon neat since beer which I love I have sensitivity to it now I can't drink. I m told I can't have it neat, I ask for a spre glass, nope can't do that either. I'm not sure what idiot came up with that rule and the GM didn't know, I'll be calling Monday to corporate office to find out. strike two. We are ushered inside for introduction to the wedding party, after that the bar downstairs is closed (only place to get ice water) and were sent upstairs to our seats, the seating is abhorrent you can't see the table where to wedding party is. the toasts begins but the upstairs bar is closed and the only drinks on the table are water glasses with slices of lemon. Okay, toast are done, dinner is served, there is a joke of a salad with some greens, pumpkin seeds a few spreads of Parmigiano cheese olives and too much dressing. see pic. the choice were chicken or fish, almost I can say is the food would give Gordon Ramsey an aneurysm, I had heartburn until the following day. well at least there's bread on the table and that would have been the best part of the meal had it been cut all the way or at least most of the way so it could have been torn part. We finished the night watching the happy couple dance and spend time with friends and left. If I could say one thing to a future couple looking to get married in. beautiful location with excellent views, find someplace else."
"If you are looking for a unique and naturally beautiful venue, this is it. The greenhouse/barn combo is so stunning mixed with the views of the mountains- it’s like out of a story book! Not only was it a beautiful place to start our life together, but the staff was incredible. Carole was extremely helpful, responsive, communicative and right on the ball with everything. Anytime I sent her an email, I never had to wait long to get a response. I had given some direction in how I wanted the decorations set up, but really left it in her hands and everything was perfect- and I literally mean perfect. I am a perfectionist when it comes to decorating and I wouldn’t have changed a thing! Now the food….WOW. We had the steak tips and eggplant dish and both were incredible. Not just ours, everyone commented on how the steak tips were cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. The eggplant was delicious too! The one regret I have is that I wish I ate more appetizers- not to the fault of the barn- I had someone literally following me around with a tray of my own personal appetizer assortment and she would not let anyone take from it! Our drinks were never empty, anytime a server walked by our table- they made sure we were all set. The whole staff was so nice and always smiling. One guest commented on how they all were genuinely happy to be there. I cannot say enough great things about this place- it was the perfect place for my dream wedding."
"We're so thrilled we chose the Barn and couldn't be more grateful for our experience with Kendra, in particular! She was amazing to work with: responsive, great expertise, collaborative and incredibly helpful throughout. The setting was so beautiful and having both outside and inside space (with the greenhouse being a unique and picturesque option for the ceremony) was ideal and flexible. The farm to table menu choices were amazing and there were SO many comments from our 150+ guests that it was the best wedding they had ever attended, from the food to the service, to the setting, transportation, accommodations and everything in between. Their group tasting process (ours was in March) is brilliant because you get to try so many options, and the event itself simulates a reception, which was so useful to really know how the space would feel once full and even help with decorating ideas. We selected a DJ from their preferred list and were so impressed with him, as well. The entire staff was kind, friendly, competent and engaging. I've planned a lot of large business events and had high expectations coming in. I can honestly say they were all exceeded and we wouldn't change a thing! Prepare to be impressed with the Barn and the Common Man Inn!"
"Having our wedding at the Barn on the Pemi was one of the easiest wedding planning decisions we had to make. We had attended a wedding there a few years prior to getting engaged and it was (and still is) one of the most beautiful weddings we have attended. It is hard to choose just a few things to highlight when discussing this venue, as the positives are innumerable. The staff, the grounds, the FOOD, the location; everything about it is actual perfection. We stayed in one of the tiny cabins the night of and it was unbelievably romantic. I would recommend this venue to literally ANYONE. We are still getting rave reviews from our guests that attended and even my own father was moved enough by the event to leave a positive review of his own. If you are lucky enough to have Carole as your coordinator; know that you have struck gold! She was the MVP of the entire day and all of her efforts really allowed us to relax and enjoy the celebration with all of our guests. Cannot thank the staff enough!"
