Alewive Woods Preserve

"Loved this trail! Very easy with a few small hills. Dog friendly! We went up one side then back around the other side, ending back at the parking lot. Towards the end there are a few spots for the pups to dip their toes in the water! There were quite a good number of horse flies the day I went, so bring your bug spray! Also a bit mucky in spots due to all the rain, but there are ways around it. Calm peaceful setting for a great trail."

"love, love, love this little jewel of a trail that winds through the woods in the Alewife Woods Preserve in w. kbk—so pretty and peaceful on this beautiful winter day, not a soul in sight. tight turn and narrow entrance to trailhead parking. bit of a shimmy getting in there. the trail itself is very easy, 2.5(ish) miles out and back, alewife pond being the turnaround point. minimal elevation gain. great place to x-c ski. bullie loves this trail!!! mostly packed powder today but icy underneath and bare ice showing in places. if you have microspikes, maybe wear ‘em. (don’t step on the dog. i might or might not have stepped on the dog but she’s ok.) coming back, sunset thru the trees was simply spectacular, but sadly no pics as the battery discharged fast in the cold and this amateur wasn’t carrying a spare. shout out to klt for cutting and nicely maintaining this sweet little trail and to john k. in kbk for pointing it out to me."

"Well maintained, easy Trails, light foot traffic. Definitely bring bug spray and shoes you can use in the mud (very muddy down by lake). Took our dog swimming here, he loved it"
