Reviews of Bowdoinham Wildlife Management Area
"Lots of walking trails but no wildlife to be seen. It's nice for a walk though"
"Glorious and silent except for the osprey explaining that she'd rather we leave her nest alone..."
"Nice walk down a tote road through some roliing fields down to Merrymeeting Bay, good hike for the little ones"
"Trained here with the Yankee Chapter of the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association. Awesome spot to work your dog! Plenty of fields, woods, a small pond, and the bay was nearly 80° at high tide, great for introducing a puppy to water work."
"A wonderful walking space where you can walk in the woods, fields, and down to Merrymeeting Bay. After parking you will follow the dirt road under the power lines and enter the property. There are atv trails and walking areas. On the western field there is an old gravesite. I enjoy walking along the Cathance River delta into Merrymeeting Bay. In the winter, you can watch the ice cakes rise and fall and talk when they are crushing each other. You'll see the remains of an old homestead and a wonderful pond. You are likely to see eagles throughout the year, but shore birds of all kinds are here in the warmer months. Merrymeeting Bay is part of the Atlantic flyway. I have seen tracks of white tailed deer, raccoons, red fox, squirrels, coyote, and more. Do be aware during hunting season that hunting can take place here."
