"Thank you. You're helping give me my life back. I finally feel a sense of hope having a service that can help me where I am struggling most. As a disabled person in poverty, there are so many roadblocks to laundry, and I started to feel like things would never improve for me and it made me feel disgusting for my situation. I did the math and one pound of laundry picked up, washed, dried, and folded by Soap Bubble is the cost as me doing only a load of wash in my buildings machines and drying it myself and folding it myself. It's just way better and now I can have consistent loads of wash. They are very nice and helpful and you get text)email updates when your driver is en route, picked up your laundry, and the same for when it's done, en route back, and delivered. They even send a photo for confirmation and so you can see where they left it. The website can be wonky and troublesome but the people are very kind and helpful and there's tons of options you can choose for your orders so you can really have things your way. I cannot suggest them enough. Thank you for everything. (P.S. there is an option to include gratuity and I highly suggest you do. The amount of work they do is exhausting and they do such a good job. Please be considerate and show them how much they are valued. They deserve it.)"
"Been living here in Portland, Maine for 2 months now , this is my go to laundromat , until today. Today I experienced DISCRIMINATION from employee. I literally loaded 4 machines and then asked if I could use restroom, female employee gave attitude and stated restrooms were out of order. No problem with that , however , as I’m sitting and waiting for my laundry to finish , she hands over the key to the restroom to two other customers right in front of me. Do better Portland , I am a travel nurse visiting from a different state and this was very unprofessional, and sad if this is how you treat other customers. Also, out of 30 dryers , almost 18 dryers are sitting full and done but unable to be used because nobody is around to remove clothing just sitting there. I will say you have a nice and clean facility but todays experience is enough to take my business else where and I’d advise anyone else to do the same."
"I look forward to going to the Soap Bubble every week, however, now that I am a new mom, I have switched to their wash/dry/fold delivery service. As expected, my experience with delivery has been just as awesome as all my past in store experiences."
"The Soap Bubble is no longer a cozy neighborhood spot. New manager (?), the tall one with the clear-framed glasses, seems drunk on her power as laundry operator. She is ridiculously rude in big and little ways. The worst was when she tried to kick a man out for wearing sandals, claiming they weren’t shoes and that his race had nothing to do with it, then soon afterward welcomed a friend of her own race in the same footwear. Her partner (? I don’t know how the business is structured) is hardworking and nice but it’s not enough. The rudeness had been an irritant for several visits, but witnessing that last incident left a bad taste in my mouth. I’m switching."
"I'm sorry to say this place has seriously gone downhill since it changed ownership. Under the previous owners there was only the occasional machine out of order, the place was always very clean, and the people who worked there were so kind and fostered a real sense of community. Now every time I go there are more machines broken and they don't seem to be getting fixed. Today there was very limited space to wash a load due to how many machines were down, and the floor looked like it hadn't been swept in days. Additionally their hours are not accurate. I arrived at 720am one morning and found the laundromat was closed despite their hours stating they open at 7. I came back at 8 and it was open, but when I asked the woman at the counter if the listed hours are wrong, she replied that it was really "whenever the owner felt like opening." She then said "You could just adjust your schedule and come later." I can appreciate that she may have just meant that she didn't want it to happen again, but it seemed dismissive to me. If the owner doesn't want to open at 7am, that's fine, but at least make the listed hours accurate. I will say that Elaine is fabulous and always a pleasure to chat with. I'm always happy to see her, both for her conversation and her hard work, as everything is always very clean when she's behind the desk. Great job, Elaine!"
