"I am suffering from gastric issues my PCP can't diagnose. She has sent a referral to Mid Coast Gastroenterology on July 21st. I called on August 7th. Was told it takes time to enter the paperwork into the files. As of August 28th, still no appointment. Aug. 25th, I notified Martin's Point to send my paperwork to Maine General with a referral. 48 straight days of diarrhea, pain in gall bladder area with no end in sight. Unacceptable."
"Recently had an endoscopy with Dr. Miguel Arguedas-Brollo. This was the first and only time I had ever seen him. He asked me questions but never once introduced himself. I thought he was the person that did the anesthesia. He was gone from the room when I woke up . I only found out later he was the doctor. Not a good bedside manner. The nurses however, were above and beyond my expectations. They were so caring and doing everything to make a person comfortable. I was at ease right away with them. Bravo to the nurses!!!"
"A recent visit to Dr Miguel Arguedas by my wife confirms the current sorry state of the medical profession. He spent 3 minutes with her before the colonoscopy and did not return to discuss the preliminary findings. Medicine has become corporate and volume driven. Dr Arguedas's paucity of bedside manner epitomizes the sad state of what once was a patient centered vocation. M. Hudson, MD (retired)"
"Extremely thankful for my Dr. taking time to help find the root cause of my pain by working with another department. She suspected something based off symptoms and led me to a life changing diagnosis. I will forever be thankful for her attentive care and willingness to think outside the box before putting me through test after test."
