"I used H&R Block for the first time. I filed taxes for the past two years. My tax was prepared was Julien Soki. For one of the years where my expected federal refund was approx. $1000, I received a letter from IRS saying that I owe them $10. The tax return for the other year has not even been filed as, when I checked my emails, I didn't have any email confirmation from them. If you care about your money, find a different tax preparation company. At least avoid Julien Soki. When you book an appointment at H&R, they will tell you who your preparer will be. With him, we could not even file the returns for one month after preparing the returns."

"Honestly, I've always loved using H&R Block. It was only due to this most recent experience that I feel obligated to leave a review, because it was not great. I opted to file remotely with a tax consultant who, while very nice, was not great at communicating. She ended our remote call early and told me she would be in touch. Then I did not hear from her for weeks stretching into months. I was concerned because the tax deadline was approaching and I had not heard from her, with my private financial information in her hands. The only communication was when she would throw in a calendar invite to schedule a call without even seeing if I could attend."

I think sometimes in such important matters the help of translators is required, and I also think that in some cases it is necessary to explain the expense and income in a simpler language, since not everyone understands accounting matters. But in general, I was satisfied!"

"My first experience ever with H&R Block was on Thursday, May 6, 2021. I walked into the office with my taxes in hand and was greeted by Tammy. I answered a few questions and left my Texas with her to be prepared as she had instructed. Today May 17, 2021 I still had not heard anything from anyone at H&R Block and since today was the last day to file my taxes I called the office and spoke with Pat Grant. She told me my taxes had not been done yet and she did not know why Tammy or anyone else had not contacted me! She told me to come in and pay $99 to file for an extension. I went in met with Julien and after a half an hour with him I ended up paying $99 to file for an extension. No explanation was given to me as to why I did not receive a call. No explanation was given to me as to why my taxes weren’t done in a more timely fashion. If I had not called today on my own I would’ve missed the extension deadline and only God knows win and if my taxes would have ever been prepared. I’m sure I’m not alone I’m sure there are many other customers who will be dealing with this I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau as well very poor practice! I took my taxes and I’m going elsewhere to have. My taxes prepared. It would’ve been very simple for Tammy to just tell me on May 6 that they would not be able to complete and file my taxes before May 17 and I could’ve had the opportunity to get them done elsewhere instead because of their pure neglect and irresponsibility I had to go in on the very last day pay $99 to file for an extension in my taxes were in a pile with everyone else’s not even touched! Outrageous I will be contacting H&R Block superiors and filing a claim with a small claim Court to get my $99 refunded and I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Absolutely outrageous outrageous experience very incompetent workers that’s all I can call them workers!"
