"Adopted a puppy from them in December, and at the beginning of January brought her to the vet to have her tested and came back positive for round worm and giardia. When we called to see if they would help in anyway, they asked if we had already taken her to the vet and after saying yes they said they couldn’t help us. We had a friend who adopted a dog that had the same thing happen to them within the same time frame. Would like to know if this was just a coincidence or if it’s something that’s circulating through the shelter itself."
"I have not been there yet. Google doesn't want to accept that fact, and keeps prompting me to review my experience. My experience: I spend a ridiculously unreasonable amount of time on their website, looking at cats and dogs to adopt, knowing full well I can't have one. I'm allergic to cats. Do you think that's going to stop me from stalking their profiles on Midcoast Humane? Absolutely not. My hopefully impending experience: I would love to go there and spend a bunch of time petting the animals and begging to help feed and walk them. With the promise of the adoption of at least one animal, I will hang around until closing, at which point you will have to rassle me (and my new companion) out of there, lest I become one of your precious boarders. Are you happy, Google? I mean, I'll update this when I go, but jeez. Give a girl a break while she scrolls a website for 70 million hours."
"I adopted a kitten from midcoast humane and I have been incredibly impressed with their organization! They were were very friendly during our adoption process, and answered many questions from us after we brought our kitten home. The staff are welcoming and informative, and you can tell that they all really care about the animals. The shelter is very clean, and all of the animals have access to lots of toys."
"I enjoyed reading about new adoptions in the area, and stumbled on an offsite campus. It was there were I found the cat of my dreams. Everything went smoothly, I brought Judy home and was instantly connected to her. After about 6 months of taking care of her..she got out..and I had the hardest time keeping her in doors. One of the biggest reasons why I wanted to adopt Judy because she was4 years old..more mature..and she was fixed. I noticed she was larger than normal..she is a small cat so i just figured she was just gaining weight.2 minth go by and she started acting strange..i knew it wqsnt because she was pregnant..the paperwork said she was fixed, and i also had the word of the staff. Late one night i heard a cry..woke me up to a small baby kitten.i was enlightenned but also a little upset. she had one cute little kitten. named her Lahta..she was so sweet and cute..I was working over 60 hrs between three jobs at this point.so getting her to the vets to get fixed was so difficult. She got out again a few months after giving birth.and got pregnant again with four kittens. I am soo frustrated at this point because we paid am adoptiion fee, and recieved paperwork showing Judy had been spayed. I wanted to express this review to you.and the importance of really knowing ALL of the details before adopting a pet here. We have been struggling to take care of all of the kittens and could have been resolved if they they did more research. I have giving two of them to proper homes and still have the three kittens..it has been a. Wild ride for sure."
