"We manage this residential property at 25 Main Street in Jay. There is not a business there and you do not live there. Please remove our address from your listing. Thank you."
"Communication is lacking to put it mildly. He doesn’t respond to messages or show up when he says he will. Currently attempting to get a refund for a fence he didn’t even start. Not impressed at all."
"When asked if a task would be done outside of said contract, it is proper etiquette to explain that said task is outside of said contract and it will cost x amount of dollars to complete task. Not to throw temper tantrums to the point that the owners feel the need to send a text message that they are doing a good job to try and calm down the ongoing whining, cussing, and complaining. It is proper etiquette to still show great craftmanship work and proper communication."
"I wanted to like him. I tried my best to look pass a few flaws, and raved about him to anyone that listen, my friends who bought a house and need many updates, my neighbors who need new roofs, my tax accountant who was looking for someone to redo her office and roof. I raved about the new roof he put on our house, that even though it never had any leaks before, he came right out twice to fix the leaks that we now had. I did not want to write this, but I need to warn new customers of what the past three months have been like to have one large room broken into two smaller rooms has been like with him here. He may have been doing this type of work since the late 90’s, but it was clearly under the supervision of someone else, and he is just starting out on his own. Please review all pictures, and ask yourself, does this look like the work of someone that has been in the industry for over 20 years or 2 years? 1.) He does not understand the concept of ordering supplies. He knew he was putting down two floors and installing two new doors but failed to order the floor base boards and the door frames. We have enough supplies left over from this project and when we had our roof redone to build a new shed. Which we were going to ask him to do, along with many other updates we need done in our house. 2.) He does not understand the concept of not ordering more supplies unless you show me the list first, and the amount that it will cost. He will call in orders to the place of his choosing without letting you know first, even though you tell him multiple times to let us know first. 3.) We will have to redo the access panel to our water valve, repaint all the walls, remove paint from trims and ceilings, finish taping and mudding off the outside wall. 4.) Let me explain about this wall that has bothered me the most. When you tell a carpenter that you would like to extend a wall out by a few feet, you more than likely DO NOT have to explain multiple times that you close off all exposing walls. That even though a pantry shelf will be on the outside wall, you still need to put drywall on the frame to complete the wall he had agreed to make. You also must explain that you use tape, and mud as well, because that did not happen. 5.) Does not understand the Carpenter’s Golden Rule of measure twice, cut once. 6.) Does not know how to install lights. We need to hire an electrician to come and check his work as we have been dealing power surges for over 48 hours. 7.) Will not clean up after himself 8.) Is not aware of his surroundings 9.) All you will hear is “WHAT THE F***” 10.) Even though the contract is half down upfront, the remaining when the job is complete, you are asked for more money biweekly, and then complete payment before the final touches are done. Because you refuse to pay until the final touches are done, they are done extremely sloppy. 11.) Did I mention that it took almost three months to turn one big room into two smaller rooms? 12.) He disregarded everything we asked of him. Repeatedly spoke ill of other women he has dealt with. Women please be aware. 13.) When you have a signed contract for a certain amount of work and money then request a couple hundred more at the end because you, once again, had to buy more supplies that we already have, this time out of your own pocket, you supply that person with receipts to show that cost you are requesting is beyond your signed contract. 14.) Because I refused to pay a couple hundred dollars above the thousands we had already paid without said receipts, and was already above a thousand that was originally quoted, he wrote a cryptic message on his Facebook page shortly after leaving our house: “People will always show there true colors” then blocks me so I can’t respond and write a review on his page. 15.) When he finished our roof right before Christmas, we gave him a couple hundred extra that was not requested from him. Yes, people will always show their true colors."
