This does not take you to the Medical Center! This was added by someone as spam this does not bring you to Medical Center front entrance. Do not use this location on maps. Someone is just creating mischief! Please ignore and report to Maps. I am a Maine vet and level 8 local guide and this is a spam entry! I used this as my destination to the VA medical center and it has you turn on roads before you even get to the medical center. It actually brings you out behind the medical center to another building. I have tried numerous times to have this destination deleted or move the marker and it was not implemented. There is another Medical center destination that brings you to the front door and is correct. I actually had the marker moved to front entrance. There are 2 other destinations that are for the medical center but are not correct in location."

"This place is absolutely terrible. If you want the worst healthcare experience then this is the place for you. I would rather go broke than get help from them. I went to the mental health clinic in hopes to talk with someone and was just handed a bottle of pills and told to wait a year to talk to someone. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else"

"This review is to acknowledge Gretchen in the Pharmacy at Togus Maine. Gretchen went above and beyond in helping me out concerning my copay. The VA recently changed my disability percentage upward and I was calling to ask how to stop copays as I was put into a category over 50 percent. I mistakingly directed my call to the Pharmacy and Gretchen quickly returned my call and told me that she removed me from the billing cycle. My issue ought to have gone to 'Billing' but Gretchen stepped in and took care of the problem. Frankly, no one in the VA in a Staff position has ever done anything like this on my behalf. Gretchen did so and I am writing this review to acknowledge her for going beyond what she was required to do. The act almost restored my 'faith' that we are mostly living in a society where most people can't be bothered to help someone out and this is especially true for the VA health system. Thank you Gretchen."

"I was visiting from out of town, and I ended up having a medical emergency. I did not want to go to a civilian ER for the condition because I did not want to risk getting stuck there all night. I went out of my way to find this ER and I'm so glad I did. Initially I was a little confused it the ER was even open. The ER is going through a remodel and the main hospital entrance did not appear to be open. After some exploration, I figured out that the main entrance was the correct entry point. Being from out of town, I was not registered to this VA system. The admin clerk tried to find my information but was unable. She made the call to take my ID and register me that way, saving me valuable time. Once I was in the ER, there was only one other person on a Friday night. Once I was seen, DR Garrison and Nurse Munson delivered superior care and took my concerns into consideration when treating me. Overall, it took about three hours from the time I entered to being discharged. The doc told me to follow up with my VA doc for any follow up care. The doc was right on the money when diagnosing my issue. The treatment was accurate and I am better now because I chose to trust the VA doctors!"
