Reviews of Culligan Water Conditioning of Yarmouth, ME
"Once equipment is installed, they don’t follow-up on issues or questions you have. Called back multiple multiple times and it’s still not resolved. Equipment is not working properly and I need them to fix it. They also sell you a product you didn’t ask for. They came & get the piece back but still did not return the money as promised. It’s been over 8 months already."
"Purchase the water softener in May 2023, required a number of service calls! Took numerous calls to get a tech scheduled"
"I spent a lot of money to put the system in my house when I first bought my home to years ago since then I’ve had them out there multiple times trying to figure out the smell and the discoloration in the water. Now my warranty is coming to an end and they still cannot get the smell out of the water even though I paid for the system that supposed to do that! Super frustrating I have spent thousands of dollars in the system and it doesn’t even work correctly and they cannot get it to work correctly! Looks like I’m not the only frustrated customer."
"Culligan's is the ABSOLUTE WORST company out there for water treatment and service in Maine. Save yourself the headache and choose a company with better values, product, prices and customer service. I mean...I've been paying for portable tanks that roughly 50% of the time have arrived damaged and/or not properly cleaned over the course of 1.5 years. At every turn when I notify Culligan's, instead of taking accountability and making it right, they've tried to blame my water and upsell me on their pricey, "permanent" systems instead of actually taking accountability for the portable tanks that were malfunctioning. Like dude...the saltlick you just delivered...oy -- when bypassed so water runs from my well to my faucet and renders my water metallic with iron but with your system on, renders water SOOOO salty that I pucker just thinking about it. ..THAT'S YOUR TANK! But Roger, the service manager, even threatened in March that he would need to discontinue my service...claiming then that "someday" they intend to discontinue the portable service, all together...but the reality of what he was saying is that if I kept letting them know when the tanks I paid for were not properly functioning, they'd hasten the process. So when I contacted them in June of 2023 when the tank I received was very clearly malfunctioning, flushing iron and manganese out in giant plumes every day and then running clear again, which I assume was likely a problem with the tank's filter...Roger could not even be bothered to return my call. It took me FIVE calls over the course of a whole month where my water was not drinkable due to tank malfunctioning to finally reach Roger. His response, unsurprisingly, was to blame my water, yet again -- despite the fact that this specific issue started with this new tank. So they sent a couple guys to test my water, again...and when I finally heard back it was a voicemail trying AGAIN to sell me their pricey system rather than talking at all about the water quality tests or the last tank (and hmmm...funny that the mineral flushing has not happened ONCE since the tank was switched...yet I still got to pay for the damaged tank AND the water I couldn't drink?!). Then finally today, on July 27, 2023, I received a notification by mail that they're discontinuing MY portable tank service, and collecting their portable tank on August 9 - less than one month from now --and of course, they are again trying to upsell me on their $6k system...like I'd buy that after the mistreatment, discrimination, and poor service? Meanwhile, the water in my house is not drinkable without treatment and should not be left untreated in the pipes...and now, thanks to Culligan's terrible customer service and discriminatory practices, I have only three weeks to come up with $6-$10k for a new system...all while Culligan's claims there's no discrimination, and are relying on a service manager telling me in March, when I called to report a gasoline smell emanating from the tank, that EVENTUALLY the portable system would be phased out...yet somehow - SOMEHOW, my neighbor right across the road is still able to receive portable tank exchange beyond August 9?! So the route is not being discontinued immediately, just MY stop. This is just another load of dense mineral deposits from a dishonest company full of sales people and not water quality experts -- a company that is retaliating against me for daring to ask them to deliver tanks that are functioning and properly cleaned, like I pay for -- and is retaliating against me for trying to hold them accountable to that very baseline standard. Now, my poor neighbor is likely to be cut off so they can cover their butts at Culligan's and pretend like it's a normal thing to give someone 3 weeks notice before their necessary water treatment will be taken away. So again -- while I file all sorts of official complaints to try to hold this company accountable for their poor service and discriminatory practices, I urge you to SAVE YOUR MONEY! Culligan's in Maine is no bueno!!"
"It is my family’s experience that Culligan Water Conditioning is more interested in putting their time and money into selling their water systems to new customers than they are maintaining the systems they’ve already installed or providing good customer service to existing customers. We purchased our system in 2015 and we are currently getting too much iron in our tap water. We called Culligan on 11-04-22 and were told that their Service Manager would call us back. It is now 12-10-22, and we have not received a return call. We have called five times and have spoken with the same receptionist each time. The first four times, we were told that their Service Manager would call us. The last time we called, 12-10-22, we were told that their scheduling person was working on it and we would get a call by the end of the day. I strongly recommend thinking twice about using Culligan Water Conditioning to install your water system as it appears from my family’s experience that they are not able to maintain their systems or provide a minimum level of customer service."
