"Not good. The labor and delivery nurse was phenomenal but after we were moved into the mother baby unit, it was horrific. It was mid December and the AC kept turning on in the room. There was a thermostat in the room and after we were trying to turn it off, nothing worked. The nurses had to call the technician maybe 5 or more times before he got there. And it took almost 7 hours. We spent the whole night with the AC working and we were all freezing. Thankfully I packed plenty of warm clothes for my newborn. Never again."

"Violated hippa. Threatened by nurse. Update: bogus investigation in hospital for knee replacement. Worst hospital ever violated HIPAA rights contraindications for medicine unable to meet. Pain control nurse threaten me. They didn’t investigation - didn’t contact anybody. Just decided they didn’t violate!!! Really really really pathetic!!!"

"I’m currently 9 months pregnant and thought I was in labor (severe back pain, cramping, and intense pressure) so I (even though I’ve been assigned to a different hospital) came here as my boyfriend had his appendix surgery here and had a great experience and wanted me to come here. This was NOT my experience. I was met with rude people that tried to turn me away from the second I walked in. Registration wouldn’t let me on the floor for a solid half hour saying I needed to have permission from my DR to be there, we ended up getting management involved because it turned into a screaming match between my MIL, her and transport ( they were on our side) to get me seen. I mean come on, I thought I was in labor and you’re just gonna try to turn me away? Once I got up to the floor I started getting seen immediately and thought registration was just a speed bump and behind us but I was wrong. Before I even begin on the next part I want to quickly say that their labor and delivery rooms are absolutely freezing (probably at 50 degrees) dirty, dusty, and broken, literally being held together by duck tape. Absolutely disgusting!!! And you let people have babies in this clearly non sterile environment? Please see pictures attached. Anyways the nurse hooked me up to the NST machine and we waited for the DR. The DR came in about a half hour later and instead of greeting me and asking questions she instead lectured me about how I shouldn’t have come because they don’t have my files and that she would now have to request them. So sorry for making you do work lady!!! After she got done lecturing me she checked me and told me my cervix was still closed but she would order me an ultrasound to make sure the baby was ok and that she wasn’t going to do anything for my pain if I wasn’t in labor, not even a Tylenol and again reminded me I shouldn’t of came to them. 4 hours then passed without another check in or the ultrasound. So I discharged myself and went to Melrose Wakefield (the one I’m assigned to) and was seen instantly as well as given a diagnosis within an hour. Kidney infection, kidney stones and a UTI. So thanks for literally nothing Winchester. Thanks for not taking my pain seriously, or even caring about me or my babies safety and health."

"My wife was admitted two days ago , when I went to visit her on the second day, my wife said they left a bed ban earlier in the day on the sink with feces in it. When I arrived my wife needed to use the bathroom and she said she could not because there was still feces on the sink. When I brought this up to the nurses one nurse the RN on the second floor name Maria said I was being very upset and she was going to call security. I find that so unacceptable she said that, she said that because they know feces on a sink is unacceptable. Then Maria the Rn tried to blamed it on my wife for not saying anything. I will be filing a complaint on Mon ."

"Just got home on Friday from what I thought would be a quick visit to the emergency room on Wednesday. I am so grateful for everyone I interacted with at Winchester. The nurse Katie and Dr. Lee in the emergency room were so patient and understanding. After I was transferred to cardiology, I got to speak with Dr. Foote, NP Geronimo, and Dr. Lubin, all of whom never made me feel rushed out, explained things to me in a way I could understand, and took time to ensure my questions were answered. My nurses in cardiology were absolute superstars -- Adriana, Maryann, Steven, Chantel, and Michelle (among others whose names are escaping me) were all so sweet and I knew they had my back every step of the way. No one, least of all myself, expected this longer stay but I left feeling so grateful for my experience. If I ever have to go back for another visit, I will go feeling comforted by the knowledge that this outstanding group of individuals will be there."
