Suburban Propane

"This company has absolutely no issues with completely robbing its customers through outrageous pricing, added fees and taxes. Just switched to a different company and paid 2.63 LESS A GALLON!!!! What this company gets away with should be a crime!!!"

"Customer service always seems to be nice and helpful. I've only had 1 issue that was eventually resolved but that is what's keeping me from posting 5 stars. Edit to review: (2nd edit below, changing providers) Keeping 2 stars because customer service is atleast nice and helpful still. But here's my problem- The last 2 deliveries have been very frustrating to deal with. I did not need deliveries and they do them anyways and then charge $10 for a "safety fee" (which I never understood why your companies safety finances are my responsibility), and $5 for delivery fee on every delivery. Today they came again, only about 45 days after the last delivery (note, propane is not our primary heat source) and did another small ammount refill then charged the fees again. I used to only have deliveries 2-3 times a year and now they for no reason start doing them every 45 days, more than trippleing their revenue for fees yearly from me alone if I let it go on. I called and instead of going back to the refill plan I've had for the last 3 years, they tell me I need to call in and schedule my own deliveries going forward, which I will do, but again just frustrating because everything was going fine for multiple years and then out of nowhere they throw a wrench in the mix and make this difficult. I'll be looking for a new fuel provider this spring unfortunately. Wish things could just go back to how they where and I'd be a happy customer. ************************************************** 2nd edit: Changed to 1 star review for the constant issues. Suburban Propane delivered 31% of my 500 gallon tank (was at 40% and delivery filled me to 71% when I should of been filled to 80%) which is about 155 gallons and they charged me for 201 gallons. Not dealing with these problems anymore and switching providers immediately."

"3.89/gal for propane?????? Had a reading of >90% on Feb 13th...supposed delivery of 126 gallons on the 15th. I was out of town for 10days, when I returned I still had >85%....can someone explain that to me?????90% of 500 = 45 gallons, not 126."

"Went with Suburban because the previous owners used them. Worst decision I have ever made. Its used for an upstairs in-law apartment that we personally do not use. We told them when they came to test the system that we don't use it very often and we want to be put on will call. They told us that would be no problem. 3 deliveries of less than 20gals of propane and 3 phone calls later they finally put us on will call. We then told them to come get the gas as we refuse to pay for deliveries we didn't need or want, and they tell us there's a pump out charge and a restocking fee. We will not be paying any of these fees and have since contacted the Consumer Protection Bureau of the Attorney Generals Office. I would highly recommend NOT using this company!"
