"My father was in severe pain and had been for over a month with a trip to the ER to discover why. This was our first visit to the PCP. Dr. Goltz had never met my father before and immediately judge him to be an alcoholic. His discrimination and judgement reflected in his lack of compassion and quality of any further questions asked. Having a family member present should be an asset for medical staff. He treated me like dirt, like I was equally at fault for being the daughter of an alcoholic. Dr. Goltz would not look me in the eye except to correct my pronunciation of Gullian Barre. He never asked my father about the quality of his pain or what it was on a scale and assumed it was muscular, when in fact he was feeling it in his joints. When I tried to explain how my father was feeling emotionally, he shut me down, got defensive and changed the subject. When I did not agree with his treatment plan of following up in a couple of weeks, I said that wasn't acceptable. He told me he didn't like my tone & walked out. He left us in shocked silence, crying."
