"As a new resident of the state of Maine last year, I was diagnosed with lymphoma shortly after relocating. As such, I was suddenly thrust into a medical system that was completely unfamiliar to me. That, in addition to the myriad of fears that a cancer patient faces, I was ridden with anxiety. The stars aligned for me the day that I was told Dr. Evans would be my oncologist. Upon meeting Dr. Evans, he immediately put my mind at ease – not only with his compassionate bedside manner, but also with his overall knowledge about my disease, my treatment plan, the details he provided as to how he would guide me through my journey with cancer, etc. My words here fail to describe the incredible care that I received from Dr. Evans and his staff – primarily his wonderful nurse practitioner, Sarah Boucher. My overall health was always a priority to both Dr. Evans and Sarah, and they always took whatever time was necessary to provide the most thorough, empathetic care that I could hope to have. Whether it was during an office visit or on a phone call, I inevitably had many questions about my health, tests that I was undergoing, my prognosis, etc. Both Dr. Evans and Sarah patiently and thoroughly answered every single question that I had. Their calming presence and incredible knowledge about every aspect of my health have carried me through my journey to becoming a survivor. I feel SO VERY fortunate to have Dr. Evans as my oncologist. Both his and Sarah’s excellent care and positive energy were absolutely a critical part in powering me through to becoming a survivor."
