"I'm not sure how to best express my disappointment in my treatment here. I came in for foot pain that started while jogging, an injury that wasn't healing on its own. 5 or 6 visits of the course of 3-4 months. He insisted over and over that it was plantar fasciitis. First Visit: Inserts that made the pain worse. Second Visit: X-rays & put some more cushioning on the inserts that were causing more pain. Third Visit: He had forgotten he had taken X-Rays and gave me a cortisone shot that did nothing. More sticky cushioning on the painful inserts. Fourth Visit: Cortisone shot did nothing so he gave me another shot with an Anti-Inflammatory and a numbing agent. It took the pain away for 2 hours. Fifth Visit: Couldn't remember any of the treatments I had received. I had to go over it with him. To quote "Well, I don't know what to do with you besides send you to physical therapy. So we'll do that." Shame on me for not looking elsewhere sooner. I know how helpful PT can be so I guess I was just being optimistic. I went to PT for 4 months after that. They also agreed with me that they didn't believe it was Plantar Fasciitis. PT was awesome, they worked with me and listened. The core pain was never solved but they helped me with strengthening and balance and it made things a bit more manageable. They very politely recommended I pause PT because insurance only covers so much a year and hinted that I look for a different podiatrist. Which I did. The new Podiatrist looked at my foot for 5 minutes and theorized that I had a tear in one of my peroneal tendons and sent me for an MRI. It took me one week from my first visit to my new pediatrist to have a diagnosis, and that was with an MRI. It turns out I have a bruised bone in my foot that is not healing. I'm currently being treated for it. (YAY!) TL:DR - I wasted 8 months of my life and recovery time as well as thousands of dollars with this podiatrist after what I can only assume is a blanket treatment he uses for Plantar Fasciitis on most of his patients without considering the root cause and using proper analysis."
