Reviews of Berard Eric N Do
"He has caused my family and especially children unbelievable stress. Uncalled for actions from this doctor has resulted in my new pediatrician having to redo all the blood tests my infant already had done because Dr Berard and his lab lied and said they never took blood from my son for tests and do to that unprofessionalism my son needs to get all these tests redone. I would.never refer anyone who really cares about there children to be seen by this doctor because he likes to fabricate stories in order to report someone for neglect when a doctor can only report for neglect if I was keeping my child from medical life threatening treatment which was not the case. I rescheduled an appointment because this doctor is never punctual and has more than 6 patients waiting for hours in the waiting room the only time I was seen quickly was because the doctor was an hour late and my son's appointment was at 10 so we were taken right in I almost had a heart attack but we were there for 2 hours for a simple check up and shots. His practice keeps switching my son's health insurance even after I notified the social workers I was switching pediatricians and that is currently delaying my son from receiving his shots. He never listened to my opinions about my children. He told me that my 2 year old was deaf when he clearly isn't because he thinks that's why he is delayed in speech. Which is not why he speaks and he walks fine. My son when to the same practice for 2 years and his pediatrician before has done plenty of hearing and eye exams on him. The worst is he told me my son needs to see a genetics specialist because his face is droopy and I did not agree with that but when the new pediatrician actually explains the he has a small chromosome abnormality and should be seen by a genetics specialist I agreed because she actually explained why and took the time to care. My experience with this doctor was horrible. If there are other parents out there that have similiar issues with him going against the medical code of ethics and against HIPPA laws I am reporting him to the medical board and you should also."
"I never have seen Dr. Berard in woonsocket as a pediatrician. He now works at Brockton Neighborhood Health Center. My wife gave birth at Landmark Memorial which is where we both first met Doctor Berard and the first impression he came off as a nice and caring doctor. After switching both of my children to see him as their pediatrician as BNHC things progressed quickly to realizing my wife and I made a huge mistake. First thing was there was no negotiating with him. It was either his way or nothing. He never even listened to our opinions and my wife's mother was a nurse for 30 years. My wife is very knowledgeable about medicine and especially when it comes to our children she will read look up and ask questions until she fully understands everything and every option. We always waited at least 2 hours and at most we waited 4 and had to reschedule. Going there was an all day affair. No patient should have to wait that long to see a doctor espicially children. Secondly as I said before this doctor thinks he is right about everything and at first we believed until my son had a heart murmur and the pediatrician sent us to Brockton Hospital right after his appointment to the emergency room for an evaluation which we had no problem with because we believed if the doctor was that concerned to send us to an emergency room with an infant than obviously it was important. We went to the E.R. and they were not equipped to deal with an infant so they had us sent to Tufts in Boston by ambulance upon arrival and my son absolutely terrified not knowing what was going on the NICU doctor came up to my wife and asked when my son turned blue at the Pediatrician`s office. My wife was so confused and said my son never turned blue we were sent here because the pediatrician heard a heart murmur. They concluded it must have been a miscommunication which we all knew was false they just didnt know how to take care of a 25 day old infant at Brockton Hospital`s E.R. so they lied to get us transferred to a better hospital which cost us an unbelievable amount of money in parking. We were there for a little over a day and a half because the Chief pediatric cardiologist Dr Michael de Moore had to be called in on his day off. He arrived the next morning which was a Saturday and did an ultrasound of my son`s heart to diagnose the heart murmur and he said there is absolutely no reason your pediatrician could not have done this outpatient instead of wasting your money and time and he stated that the heart murmur was very common in newborns and would most likely go away. It was a minor heart murmur and we told all the doctors involved that my wife and I both have heart murmur also and so do our siblings it is common and runs in the family. That incident just made us loose any faith in the doctor's decision making. So when he asked us to come in twice a week for a weight check for our son we did on his appointment and didn't understand why he couldn't just weigh him the next month at his next appointment.. We were up to date on everything but my health insurance kept messing up my children's health plan due to a change in their system and coverage so when we went to the outpatient cardiologist appointment my son was not covered and we had to call and fix the insurance and reschedule the appointment unless we wanted to pay almost 4 grand so a doctor could listen to my sons heart so we rescheduled. By the time we saw Dr Berard again at his 4 month shots the heart murmur was gone and he was so embarrassed he never mentioned again because he also accused me of neglecting my child of medical care which is ridiculous and he could of had the decency of speaking to me about this concern if it was really a concern instead of him putting his personal beliefs into other people's way of choosing what was right for their children of course my wife and I got our children a new pediatrician that actually explains things and doesn't just assume things and make referrals based on nothing and report you for neglecting your children. I am now reporting him also."
