"Dr. Shih interrupted me in the middle of every sentence and didn't let me get through my comprehensive list of questions and concerns before stating that I need to "Eat less" and offered me weight loss injections in the office. To be clear, I am not rail thin, but am also NOT at an unhealthy weight for my size. I'm an athlete who does 15 hours of exercise a week and, work with a dietitian, which Dr. Shih would have known had he bothered to ask questions before pushing a dangerous weight loss drug on me. And the issues I discussed have been present since I was a child, at which point I was dangerously underweight. He gave me awful nutritional advice. He told me to "eat less" at least five times, and recommended that I join a weight loss program like weight watchers. I'm 23. I'm an athlete. I work with a dietitian. I have a supportive and balanced lifestyle. Dr. Shih's narrow mindedness and judgmental demeanor was the reason why I am so hesitant about seeing doctors in the first place."
