"Almost half way through pregnancy and I have received good care from this facility as well as the Duxbury office. All staff have been kind, appointments go smoothly, and I feel well informed."
"This place is awful. My wife had two miscarriages, we find out it’s because of her high thyroid that they never checked even though my wife repeatedly told them she had thyroid issues. We’re on our third pregnancy and found out her levels are abnormally way above level and has been for quite some time. Now we are worried about a third miscarriage. It just gets better, to add on to the negligence my wife went to call(after hours because they decided to call with these very important results 5 minutes before they closed) and we got a message back from a person Kathy being very rude and condescending telling my wife to call in the morning even though the very first appointment she was told to call with any concerns at any time. We have the voicemail and believe me it is getting posted everywhere once I download it because no one should have to go through this."
"The front desk staff are super nice. Though communication was an issue. I was told I missed an appointment that I canceled the week before. The medical staff were ok. They didn't talk about lots of options that I had that were less invasion or intense for things. Meeting with someone after them, I was shown the error in some of their methods. Also then after a couple visits, I was told that they are only now making appointments for patients who are pregnant due to a staffing issue. Which on one hand is understandable they can't control staffing, but then you have a duty to patients you already have, so completely irresponsible. Found better care elsewhere."
"I wish I could say I had a great experience because I really wanted it to work out with it being my closest hospital option for delivery for me but there were so many mistakes and miscommunication with the birthplace and the office that it became concerning. I had my daughter with them in 2015 and didn’t have a good experience but wanted to try again with this baby. I made it 26 weeks with them before my husband was tired of seeing me upset so many times and suggested to switch. I was nervous to switch but knew BID wasn’t the right fit. I was ignored, and disrespected by a doctor that had no bedside manner. I was able to get in with another OB and it has been absolute smooth sailing. I’m heard and respect now and not just pushed along."
"Coming from someone who has worked in multiple areas of healthcare…horrible. Quickly changed back to Brigham and woman’s where I had my first child after only a few appts. My first red flag was when I showed up for my first ultrasound with my husband and 4 year old. Husband and 4 year old waited in the waiting room 4 year old was fast asleep the entire time being held by husband and I had multiple staff members tell me to “next time find a baby sitter” because they don’t allow children in the practice. he was literally asleep in my husbands arms WTH??? I can understand if a child is misbehaved and disruptive but to give me a hard time for a sleeping child? I also enjoy my child being a part of the process of seeing his little brother grow and come into the world so if that too is valuable to you find another office like Brigham and woman’s they’re awesome and involve the siblings in appts and ultrasounds. Next, they let my anemia go untested and untreated the entire time after I had expressed concern for difficulty breathing and near passing out multiple times a day I expressed my history of anemia with my past pregnancy and they swept it under the rug never even tested me as soon as i switched to Brigham they tested me and had to start me on IV iron infusions. LASTLY, midwife Shelly downing is extremely unprofessional and negligent. She will hang up on you if she’s the on call because she doesn’t like to be bothered while getting paid to pick up a phone. Id rather go to the carney for maternity care then be cared for by someone like that, and that says a lot."
