Ob/Gyn Associates-North Shore

"It has taken quite a few months for me to decide if I was going to write this review but after receiving quite a large bill I decided I needed to share my experience. I have been coming to this practice for years and Dr. Konniaris has been one the best doctors I have ever had. A few months ago I underwent an early miscarriage. After multiple trips back and forth for the Rogham shot and blood draw I was told I needed to come in for an exam. The only provider available was Dr. Mizraji. Upon arriving I was told by the nice women who showed me to my room to get undressed for the typical exam. When Dr. Mizraji came in we talked briefly of the previous few days and the miscarriage. She seemed quite confused as to why I was there and began with comments “as least you can get pregnant” and “I have this conversation like twice per week” as the conversation continued I felt embarrassed about being sad. She continued to make comments about how she doesn’t want children and said “I am not going to do an exam. The girl thought you were pregnant and got excited” she ended with telling me that maybe it’s a good thing because I have a needle phobia as written in my chart and I should probably get over that before having a child. After this appointment I left feeling worse than I went in. I decided after many years with a wonderful doctor it was time to leave this practice. I do not write this review to turn people away but instead in hopes to educate. Miscarriage no matter at what stage is difficult and it is not talked about nearly enough. Maybe it’s because of experiences like this that people feel Shame. No matter how far along I was a dr. Cannot decide if my grief is valid. It is not their job to “fix” it or to judge. It is their job to be a decent human being and to understand the human experience. If this dr could learn anything from the way I was treated it’s this: if you do not understand what to say to someone who went through loss, don’t say anything at all. Just sit with that person and validate their experience."

She is one of the best doctors of any specialty I have ever worked with in my entire life. She is thorough, compassionate, gentle, brilliant, innovative, and warm. Going to the gynecologist can be uncomfortable and intimidating at times, but she makes the experience so pleasant and stress-free. She really takes the time to listen to all of my concerns and offer comprehensive and helpful explanations of my symptoms. She is also up-to-date on the most recent research in women's health and helps me to make informed-decisions about my gynecological care. I have recommended Dr. Koniaris to every single one of my female friends and relatives and will continue to do so without hesitation. Thank you Dr. Koniaris for being an incredible and integral part of my medical care. You are the absolute best! :)"

"Being 38 weeks pregnant I have been having the best experience at the Swampscott office but the last 2 visits have been here and the front desk staff are very rude and not helpful at all. I refuse to come back here. It is unfortunate because the doctors and nurses are wonderful."
