"Ordered. An hour later no food. Several apologies from server (this was brunch). Literally asked for check and paid for meal before served. That’s how late the kitchen was. Sandwich was all bread and sparse fillings (one thin fried slice of prosciutto and think slice mozzarella on thick bread grilled in oil). Oiled inside and out. No break on check. Experience didn’t make sense. Won’t be back."
"We had a fantastic lunch at Alcove yesterday. Jamie was beyond wonderful! He made us some amazing cocktails, helped with our wine selections and added to the whole enjoyment of our meal. The food was great. I loved my salad as it was super fresh and packed with flavor. The focaccia with the 3 choices of sauces was terrific. Everyone enjoyed their meals and all were done to perfection. A great spot to put on your list!"
"As a Lovejoy Wharf resident, I've dined at Alcove 100+ times since it opened and have consistently experienced exceptional experiences. Ambiance - I like how Alcove provides multiple experiences. I've hosted work dinners in the dining area, enjoyed lunch or dinner outside, and worked while eating at the bar. I enjoy having a meal overlooking the water and Zakim Bridge. Food - I enjoy the range of options from easy bites to multi-course dinners, including raw bar, lunch / light appetizers, and dinners. My favorites include oysters, ceviche, grilled shrimp tacos, entree specials, and the hazelnut affogato dessert. Customer Service - I consistently receive exceptional customer service. The best restaurant is the one that knows you. Special thank you to Sara, who always makes the service excellent and customized. You are the reason I return once or twice a week. Drinks - Alcove has an exceptional wine list for all price points. They also have good beer and cocktail options. I HIGHLY recommend Alcove if you are stopping by for a drink/light bite, in the area for a TD Garden event, or looking for a neighborhood restaurant."
"There’s a lot to like here. Gorgeous views outside, really modern interior, prompt service, and sustainability as a focus from the menu. I think like many spots nearby you’ll find seafood is one of the highlights, but I wish they could do more with their appetizer section - it feels a bit lacking. The bread was delightful if small in “value”/portion sizing. Ditto the ice cream at the end. Entrees felt generously portioned and were quite good, but the burger was a bit lackluster - just a little dull and not all that well presented- same for fries. Same for the chicken. Delicious, don’t get me wrong, but plating needs work- just very bland aesthetically. Feels like a 3/5 there but a solid 4.5/5 in flavor. I’m doing the full 5/5 stars because we had a good time, felt well attended, and generally appreciate any seasonal and sustainable food even inclusive of small flaws or other unrelated issues. Nothing “outstanding” or groundbreaking happening during our meal (summer 2023), but absolutely still a highlight of the town and it’s so nice to see sustainable high quality food taken seriously."
"Went for a dinner on a Saturday night. Nicely styled inside, pretty loud tho. Salmon crudo was my fave of the night, I also got quinoa fried rice which was okay. Portions aren’t too big. For dessert I got apple crisp, delicious but a bit too sweet if not accompanied by coffee. Overall my party liked dining, probably won’t be back. Check for 3 w/wine was around $300"
