Dr. Denise Poulin, MD - OB/GYN Associates of Southern NH

"Dr. Poulin and this practice are the most unprofessional provider's I have ever been to. The sad part is, I have never even met Dr. Poulin and I have already built this impression. I have been having issues with my IUD as well as concerns from another doctor regarding cervical cancer. I was looking for a provider close to my work (which is why I chose this office) so it would be convenient as a working mom to go to an appointment. I originally made my appointment at the end of May and had to schedule out over a month and a half. I was a little concerned to wait so long because of the issues I had been having but figured it would be okay. On the day of my appointment 7/9/15, I showed up with all my completed paperwork in hand and prior to my 10:45am appointment like I was asked. I sat down in the waiting room and waited to be called in to the office. Because I have worked in the medical field for many years I never expect to be called in right away (although wouldn't that be nice) but after waiting 20 minutes past my SCHEDULED appointment time I returned to the window to ask how much longer. Now normally if a provider is running late the front office is told so they can provide a courtesy warning to the patient so you can reschedule if you need to. Apparently this is not the common practice here at Dr. Poulin's office. The front desk woman didn't have a clue as to what the hold up was so she called out back. When she got off the phone she relayed the message to me that it would be an additional 30 MINUTES at the earliest! So what you're meaning to tell me is that I won't be seen until 50 MINUTES after my scheduled time!? Then I was offered ONE other day to reschedule but was told that this day is her "on call day" so there is a 50% chance my appointment will be cancelled. At that point I told the woman that I would not choose to reschedule and I will take my business elsewhere. I could not believe the discourtesy that this provider had given me. The nurse (who the woman at the front was calling) or the doctor should have been professional enough to come out themselves and apologize for the inconvenience. Now, not only have I wasted my hour lunch break but also the month and a half I waited between the time I made the appointment and the date it was scheduled for. Not to mention I now have to find a new provider (which will take a while to get into as well) and continue on with the issues I am having. I'm sure Dr. Poulin nor her staff read these (cause it's obvious they could give a crap about their reputation) so I urge any seeking for care that doesn't have all day to waste to look somewhere else."
