"Great experience with the guys at live liners. From start to finish they were ON POINT. We got on fish quick, and didn’t spend a ton of time getting bait. We caught 10 fish (2 keepers thanks government regulations) had another dozen spit hooks or broken lines, all on a quiet day too. We had a 12 year old that they kept engaged the whole time. they know fishing, super friendly, affordable, and go above and beyond. I’d give 6 stars if I could. "From the moment Captain Hugh answered his phone, I knew we’d found our guy. His kindness exuded through the phone and you could feel this isn’t just a “gig” for him, but a true passion. He asked that we take into consideration he will have his first mate, who works on gratuity, and is a “good kid who works hard”. I appreciated that he looks after his crew. He was attentive and responsive, navigating full patience as I asked a few questions. Booking with him was easy, as easy can get. On our charter day, we arrived at the spot he guided us to and loved how simple it was to board from the public marina spot. His first mate, Fischer, welcomed us with great personality and warm (firm) handshakes. Immediately, the stories and point out of the various landmarks were underway with several “wicked awesome” remarks that my son just loved! (He thinks the penned famous saying is the coolest ever!) Captain Hugh and Fischer definitely have a fun and “family-like” dynamic. You can tell these two truly love working together and they know their stuff! We stopped to catch bait in the beginning and were thrilled to have caught over 70-80 mackerel and off we went to do some inshore striper fishing. Some fantastic viewing of lighthouses, coupled with great stories and oh the SEA BASS we were catching sure puts our Texas lakes fishing to shame. We wound up catching 7-8 big stripers with the largest registering about 35 inches. Such a fun day, and would do it with these two all over again! Looking forward to the next time we’re in town.
