Spencers

"Went to the mall with a group of friends. Immediately upon entering the store, an employee was following us around. In the back of the store they had a convex mirror and (like I always do when I see one because I think it is a cute trend) I took a photo in it. The employee that was following us saw me taking a photo and said “No taking photos ESPECIALLY in the back of the store!” Okay, that is fine, wish they maybe had a sign or made that rule more clear so I wasn’t embarrassing myself already. Then my friend (who is 18) was interested in purchasing something that said “18+” on the package. The same employee then berated my friend saying she had to be 21+ even though the package said otherwise. Everyone in the group was interested in purchasing items but instead we immediately left after feeling embarrassed and belittled by the employee. Definitely my worst Spencers experience."

"I was greeted warmly. I don't know what I expected. Everything was highly priced. Example, tee shirts buy one get one for a for a dollar . Price $23.99 so why not reduce them to $17.00?"

"I went to Spencer’s in the Braintree mall and it was horrible. I decided to do a day of shopping and it was going fine until I went to Spencer’s. The second I walked in the store a man an d a woman kept filing me around. I don’t know why I didn’t have anything and my hands but was just looking. I was in that store for less then 5 mins and was followed around Like a hawk. I decided to leave the store. My finance decided to buy a hand fan and I said I don’t like the vibe don’t buy anything out of here. When I approached both the male and female about following us They said this is store policy to follow anybody around no matter who it is. Long story short it’s one thing to make sure no one steals but what they were doing was just wrong and uncomfortable. I won’t be coming back and if they continue to do what they were doing this store won’t be around much longer"

"Big selection of piercings, also they were buy 1, get 1, 50% off! So it was only 20 bucks for 5 pairs of lip/ labret barbells."

"It's a pretty typical Spencers store. They have the usual band/attitude/pop culture shirts and plenty of gift items. There's also the fairly large adult section in the back and lots of body jewelry. The employees didn't really greet me in any way and seemed to be more content talking to each other about going to see some shows during the summer. Most people know about what they carry, just be careful about going in there with young children."
