"Absolutely horrible. I was charged by my provider for a copay due to a "plan design" error for a reoccurring service. It took over four months and countless calls to finally have Blue Benefit correct the claims and payout the provider so that I could get a refund. I consistently was told things were in motion or I would be getting a call back. This never happened. I always had to follow up to hear the same thing. Every time I go to the doctor, they try to charge me for a high deductible plan instead of a copay. When I asked Blue Benefit about this, I was told once again it is a "plan error" they were hoping to have fixed in 2024 and I should have the provider call them. But, they rarely answer the phone. I consistently receive bills from providers that aren't correct due to errors in payouts. It is a full time job trying to follow up with them about claims and ensuring I'm not overpaying again. Overall it has been miserable having to deal with them."
"I sent my claim out electronically and have not been paid and have received no EOB. Tried calling provider services and was on hold for 30 minutes then was disconnected. Tried the next day and was on hold for another 25 minutes then gave up. Tried faxing my claim only to hear that it is an invalid fax number. So will now try mailing my claim to them. I am just a provider trying to collect my $90.00. Horrible insurance company customer service for providers"
"What a nightmare . No hospital or provider recognizes their policy because and you will be spending hours making calls back and forth trying to resolve the issue. Blue benefits response is “we are independent” and you need to ask the hospital to call us. That’s not how healthcare works"
"Have been prescribed nasonex for the past 6 years. Generic did not work for me. When prices went up and even cvs did not have the brand.. I was forced to get generic. Blue Benefits administor told my pharmacy that they dont even cover the generic and I should go with flonase ..so the insurance co decides what is good for me instead of my dr? Why do we go to Drs then?. now I am coughing blood and my lung hurts wearing mask everywhere..Why do I even pay 8000 and my company 16k per year for insurance with 3500 deductible when they do pay nothing.. just if i have a terminal illness or accident? 2022 October. Tried to get an estimate for head MRI as it is not cheap with high deductible plan. Boston Children Hospital said its 4k. Asked BBAM what is the allowed price now that I have insurance.. they said my insurance is with BCBS and they are just administrators...thus they can not give me information on pricing....such a nonsense..have a healthy insurance card with customer service that can not tell me how much a medical procedure costs with their in network provider....."
"Completely incompetent. Far worse than Blue Cross MA or any other insurance company. Claims take 2-3 months to process, but even after that, nearly 1 in 5 claims has a processing / clerical error that has to be corrected, taking multiple more months to resolve. Incompetent claims processing, incompetent member service reps. Use a different administrator."
