"My family and I stayed at the Tortoise and the Mare Inn and guest houses for a family reunion. It’s the most beautiful, peaceful setting. From the cozy Christmas cabin, to the modern container minium and spacious Farmhouse Inn. The family was so pleased with everything. Cooking our favorite family recipes in the beautiful, fully equipped kitchen was so much fun and brought back so many memories. The views of the mountains were breathtaking! I loved my choice, “Michaels Christmas cabin, it was intricately decorated with everything Christmas, my favorite holiday! I recommend the Inn and cabins very highly and will return soon. To top off everything the hosts Laura and Steve are so welcoming and helpful. The kids loved feeding Chewy, the tortoise and Heart, the beautiful and friendly mare! We recommend this beautiful piece of heaven on earth ."

"Our event was on a new moon at the end of August. We wanted our guests to experience the amazing stars in the mountains of Maine. The Tortoise and the Mare Inn is an incredible venue, we could see the Milky Way! The guest houses and rooms are beautiful and our friends and relatives were even able to camp on the property. Laura and Steve are wonderful hosts and helped make sure all the details came together and all the vendors were in contact. We only visited the location in the winter, first seeing it with snow. We took the chance and booked it because the photos of other events looked magical. The property is stunning so naturally every picture was gorgeous. We can’t wait to go back with our friends and enjoy a big fire and the stars! Thank you Laura and Steve!!!"
