"I went to Boston with my girlfriends for a trip and this bar was the best part of our entire experience! It was close to our Airbnb and the staff and patrons were so warm and welcoming! 10/10 would go back literally only reason to visit Dorchester!"
"There's hardly any safe true dive bars. This is one. You feel comfortable here. Eddie the bartender is friendly. The food is good. Plus there's free parking."
"$3.50 for a bottle of Bud and home cooked food for a very reasonable price. They used to open at 8 AM but I believe the hours are now something around 11 AM opening. Mike the bartender is one of the friendliest guys you’ll ever meet. They have a huge parking lot which is a plus in Dorchester. If you are planning on grabbing something to eat remember the kitchen closes at 7 PM."
"Staying at an Airbnb close by, my wife and I were trying to find a good bar in the area to have a few drinks. A couple came up with a quick internet search but they all looked like a chain or a restaurant with a bar. Then I came across Twelve Ben’s Tavern. No photos of the inside but all the reviews mentioned good food and an atmosphere of a bygone era. The reviews did not disappoint. Once we opened the door we knew we were at a a good place. Wraparound bar, lots of old men sitting around, drinking and laughing. The bartender was friendly and welcomed us right away. Had a few drinks and a good chat with him through the night that made our trip that much better. We left feeling very grateful and with a desire to come back as many times as possible. Cannot say enough good things about Michael, the owner and bartender who charmed us completely, providing stories and laughs throughout the duration of our visit alongside excellent service. Classic ‘cheers’ experience without the tacky commercialism. Would highly recommend to anyone willing to listen!"
"It's a dive bar with good food cheap. Popular among Boston's working class Irish community. They have dart boards and two function rooms, as well as pay per view events."
