"I want to start off by saying I STRONGLY recommend NOT using this hospital. They are crooks in every sense of the word. Went in looking to have a specific test done. I consulted with the MD and he agreed that I should receive that test. However, he said I "might as well" have these others tests "just in case". I said, "well I really only wanted this certain test done and I would ONLY do these other tests if they would be covered under my insurance". He asked what insurance company I had so I told him "Harvard Pilgrim". He went on to say "Oh, yeah they'll cover those tests". Seeing as I don't deal with health insurance on a daily basis and he does, I figured I could trust him. WRONG. He actually sounded just like a sales person. Pretty disgusting really when you consider he is suppose to be looking out for your best interest. If you can't trust your own MD, who can you trust? Anyways, about a month of so later I was greeted with a $840 bill for all these tests I didn't want. The test I did want cost about $200 which I was more than willing to pay. I fought it citing I didn't want this tests done in the first place and he basically scared me into taking them which is true. I initial went in there curious about something not even remotely life threatening and came out with a bunch of "just in case" test results. The moral of the story is DO NOT go here. I'm telling you, you won't regret listening to me it could save you money in the long run! Stick to the Maine Medical Hospital System."
