"I called today and the receptionist explained that they don't accept tenants who work in the food industry! How is that not discrimination?! They need to change this so more people like me who have children and need housing don't have to suffer over such an absurd policy."
"Of all the apartment complexes I've lived in, Kittyhawk has been my best experience ever. Other than water running , or clothes washers running, I never hear footsteps or conversations through the walls as I have in other complexes. I had an issue with my refrigerator and as soon as I made a call to maintenance about it they came within a few days and checked it out. They made some adjustments and it didn't help. Within a couple of months I renewed my request to have it checked again and they came within a couple of days. Shortly after that I received an email from management that my new appliances would soon be delivered. I expected apartment quality appliances, meaning just a basic style appliance. I didn't even have to take time off from work, Kittyhawk maintenance was at my apartment, with my permission, to have the new appliances installed. When I got home that night after work, not knowing what to really expect, I was beyond excited and happy at the beautiful, way above 'basic' appliances that were in my kitchen!!!! I will care for them as if I paid for them myself because I am so appreciative and I understand the value of what management put in my kitchen. I could go on....but for now, I think you get the idea!!! Linda R"
"I lived here for 3 years and was very happy. The one bedrooms are spacious with plenty of closet space, and the rent is reasonable. The full length mirrored closet door in the living room is a great touch! Even though the complex is on a busy road, it's set far back enough that it's very quiet. The property manager is responsive, and while it sometimes took awhile to fix maintenance issues, there were so few issues in the first place that I never had a problem. One thing that I didn't know about coming from a less snowy part of the country, and that turned out to be a lifesaver, is that the parking lot is large and well plowed in the winter without strict times you have to move your car. So no parking bans and no shoveling required; just walk like a penguin on the ice. Some cons that aren't really cons so much as things to know before moving in: the aforementioned busy road means that it's impossible to really walk anywhere, and the white walls and carpet make things feel a little bare, though my neighbors are better decorators than me and made their apartments feel cheerier. Something I've only noticed since moving into my new apartment is that the windows, while large, are only on one side of the apartment, meaning you need to invest in some really good lighting to make the place feel bright. This was my first apartment out of college, and I'm really grateful to the management for making it the best it can possibly be."
"I lived in the Highlands for 3 years. I moved out for a few months but recently moved back because I was not happy where I went. I am so happy to be back. The highlands are well maintained and a safe environment. There's rarely a concern of crime around here. The tenants are all screened to be sure they are good people and the folks who run it are easily approachable. Great for single people to small families to retirees."
"This is a well maintained place, with immediate response if anything is ever broken. The road is plowed multiple times a day, and paths shoveled frequently. The apartments are very clean, and the neighbors friendly. Onsite laundry is cheap, and the Energy Star appliances makes for a very low electricity bill. The people who maintain the property spoil the experience for everyone. You are watched when you come and go, and are threaten to be kicked out for anything they might not like (too much patio furniture included). If you are over 65 this must be a great place to live, but if you are not, be prepared to fell unwelcome in our own home."
