Reviews of Carbonneau Repair
"I broke the buckle on my 10 year old belt that was special made for me by a leather artisan that is no longer around. I was heart broken because as I’m plus sized, this meant finding a new one would be very difficult. I brought it here in hopes that Mr. Carbonneau could fix it, and he did…even exceeded my expectations! Look at the quality stitch work! I love how he stitched a new buckle in instead of using the cheap screw on buckles you find on Amazon. He took the time to make a quality repair. The best part is, fixing it was a fraction of the cost of a new one from DXL! I will gladly bring it back if the buckle breaks again after another 10 years. Thank you so much!!!"
"Perfectly replaced the main zipper on my duffel bag. And best of all, they did it at a fair price! Highly recommend Carbonneau Repair"
"Friendly service, my tennis bag was fixed on the spot. They went above and beyond to fix it quickly and with great quality and they were very modestly priced. I’ll be back with some shoes to fix the heels. They have a huge parking lot which helps in Worcester, MA. Thank you Carbonneau"
"TL:DR version - Go elsewhere. I wanted to give this place a good review, as they came highly recommended, but honestly, I'm really upset. A pair of boots that were once my mother's and have great sentimental value to me may be ruined, and I wish I had gone somewhere else or just tried to do these repairs myself. For starters, no one was wearing a mask. The owner/repairman barely talks or even looks at you. I felt like he didn't want me to be there, that my showing up to support his business was an inconvenience or annoyance to him. I tried to be friendly, but it was like talking to a brick wall. I felt incredibly awkward the entire time I was there. There was another employee there when I dropped the boots off, who was equally cold and disengaged. The front sole repair was done very well, and I'm satisfied with that at least. However, the back heels were very worn down and nothing was done to that part. There are loose and untrimmed threads on both the inside and outside of the boots. The heel reinforcements are glued to the lining on one boot but not the other, so it's sticking out on the inside of one boot. Neither is glued down to the bottom. In addition, he said he would run a strip up the inside of the lining to help prevent further fraying. This wasn't done at all. The worst part is the repair done to a popped stitch along the back seam of the boots. When I showed up on the day he said they'd be ready, this repair hadn't been done, and he scrambled to do it quickly while I stood there. Before I realized what he was doing, he made a huge ugly zig-zag across that back seam and once I saw it there was nothing I could do. That part absolutely could have been done so as to be invisible, because the lining on both boots was torn and needed to be restitched, which would have allowed access to that seam. Finally, absolutely no scuffs in the leather dye were touched up. It looks like the boots were polished on the front a little, but all of the little marks, dirt in the creases of the laces, etc that were there when I dropped then off were still there when I picked them up. In summary, I paid around $75 for some of the sloppiest, most rushed, incomplete, and poorly executed repair work I've ever seen, and I've devasted. I don't know if I can fix the butcher job done on the back seam, and after paying so much here I really can't afford to take them somewhere else to have the repairs done properly. If he had been in any way communicative or friendly, I might have spoken to him about it, but it was clear to me that he didn't care and wasn't going to make it right. All I can do is share my horror story in the hopes of preventing others from having beloved shoes ruined by substandard work."
"Awesome place! Took a cushion zipper to get fixed, he fixed it and sewn the hole for me in less then 5 minutes! It was only $10! Will definitely bring more items here!"
