"Stayed a week and a half best part was the food alot to choose from breakfast was the best unfortunately my stay wasn't to pleasant anytime I was called in for any type of counseling it was really just a quick meeting of tell me where your staying so we can get you out. Started me on new meds that made everything worse so ended up right back in an emergency room place has a lot of potential I hope they change a bit and care a little bit more about depression anxiety and bipolar disorders the groups went well learned some good breathing techniques and stretches. Was my first time in a inpatient facility I'd go back with some changes for sure."

"Worst hospital I’ve ever been to and unfortunately I’ve been there a lot but not anymore!! Kicked me out at 2:30am after taking an ambulance after feeling like I was going to die from Covid complications, not to mention the ride there I had to hold myself down they didn’t strap me in or even ask if I was comfortable! They disrespected me for not having my shot then kicked me out in the rain at 4:30 am without a ride home I had to walk about 2 miles before I finally woke someone to get me!! They stated I couldn’t be in the hospital having Covid because I could expose others yet nobody was to be seen anywhere!!! They discriminate and I have plenty of people to attest to this I’m currently speaking with lawyers about two different scenarios this being the 2nd the first, I was shipped to Florida in a really scary Mental Health facility I paid my way down after being they made it clear I had to go and said they’d Pay the trip back, I ended up stuck down there 10 extra days before the facility paid my plane ticket, so they lied and not only lied but to someone who was there for severe depression!! I had to share these and I could give 4 more details but the points made!!! I’d prefer a Veterinarian next time"

"A few days ago my husband and myself were on an island off the coast when he was subject to intense pain. When we reached Pen Medical Center's Emergency Department, he had extremely elevated INR (supra-therapeutic INR - he was on a blood thinner due to AFIB) and Hematuria, unspecified type. Over the next 17 hours or so, he received excellent care: professional, insightful, and caring, from the doctors, nurse partitioners, and nurses, and kindness from the rest of the staff. When we left, his medical preparation and advised time of departure allowed us to make the four-to-five hour drive safely home to another state and to his own medical circle of care in Massachusetts."

"from friends, family, coworkers, this place has always been known as horrible. i grew up in Camden, always using them as a kid because it was close and easy. as i started to get older i started to hear the stories. nurses don’t care, doctors are just there to get you out of there fast as possible. I had a carbon monoxide poisoning out on an island in Maine i was in full seizure mode. They told me i was over exaggerating, having a PANIC attack and then gave me Ativan without telling me, i’ve had lung problems ever since and still do. i had to get an inhaler from a FRIEND. I’m 21 years old. They’re judge mental, and the amount of times i’ve been sent home with “nothing” and then go to another hospital and i come out with a diagnosis AND antibiotics. It’s rather sickening because so many families rely on you guys for your location. do better."

"I had a complicated appendicitis on a remote island in Maine and was flown here. I was in hospital for 2 weeks. Wow, I am so glad I wound up in Penn Bay. The nursing staff was great, the doctors were great. The common rooms had nice views. I was free to move around as I could. Thankfully I didn't go to Portland or home. I cannot say how grateful I am to the "just right" sized Penn Bay."
