"The pastries look delicious. I only tried a few varieties so far . I love a good baguette( french bread) . Unfortunately, having gone in several times , I live around the corner, the baguettes ends are always burned . I refuse to pay a sandwich for whatever price that is burned ! I asked one of the bakers why that is and his answer was to get it crunchy . Being from Europe and having lived in France for years, most of my youth actually , crunchy is great ,but burnt is not. Very unfortunate and disappointing ! I guess I'll continue to buy at competition who manages to bake a fantastic French bread that's crunchy and not burned."
"A minimalist bakery with flaky sweet breads I got a pain au chocolaut. It was really flaky, and the chocolate was very rich. It isn’t a 5 stars because the pastry wasn’t as buttery as I wanted"
"Went here back in August while hanging with my cousin! I'm originally from California and they had the best croissants. That perfect crunchy but airy bite through your teeth. Delicious 10/10. I also had the Passion Fruit Pavlova which was also sweet & tasty. They also have these cute little packaging which is sooo useful for takeout. :) Overall, best bakery I've ever tried in town. Thank you Alex and to Alex's mother you are so kind and polite. I'd come here once again next time I come to Boston!"
"Their pastries are exceptional but their bread is disappointing. I usually get my bread elsewhere but I was in a hurry and ran in here on my walk home. The baguette was way over cooked with a dark dry char on the crust and a very dry dense interior. The crumb inside was small and compact. Bread is tough and there are a lot of factors that go into fresh bread but I think this batch should have been scraped. Had I of noticed how over baked it was when I was there, I would have asked for another or just skipped it. After eating a few bites with dinner, I’m going to have to toss this as it is simply not worth the calories. The eclair I got to eat on my walk home was excellent though."
"A cute little French pastry store located in the heart of Coolidge Corner. Their Strawberry Basil Pavlova was very delicious in both flavor and texture. Really loved how you can smell the basil. The meringue, cream, and strawberry purée creates a complexity in the pastry item that makes the indulging experience very adventurous. The kouign amann was good, but not “wow”. Lemon tart was also another hilight!! Pastries were a little too pricey compared to the quantity we got."
