It is thick so more "water resistant" (good for washing the dog in the kitchen sink) and the use of adjustable buckles (similar to what's on a backpack) is genius, as is the fact that the straps criss-cross behind--unlike the halter style aprons that pull uncomfortably on my neck --I can wear this apron all day.
