"Living north of the White Mountains, this is one of only two multi-screen movie theaters within an hours drive. It gives me an excuse to head down to North Conway with its good restaurants, home and garden megastores, and places to buy and drink good brews. Given that there's two movies there now that I'm interested in, I'll be headed down twice this coming week. There's always plenty of parking, the place is clean, and the coffee and popcorn are good. I've probably watched 30-40 movies there over the last ten years: I've never had any negative experiences. The sound is good, the screens are the best within two hours drive, and they get most of the movies I'm interested in. Though I like art house/foreign movies and wish they had a screen dedicated to such, I suppose there aren't enough of us to support it."
"Was very disappointed when i entered the cinemas today. Went up to the regular register where they check you in for tickets and for some reason it wasn’t open. No big deal, but the man behind the counter that was filling out a chart didn’t hesitate to not look in my eyes, but point basically down the hall and said “over there” very rudely. I look at the other person working and he said that register wasn’t open and to go into another line. Again no big deal, i patiently waited and when we got up there more people went into that same line where then that person proceeded to walk outback without saying anything to anyone in that line. The other guy then said sorry that register is not open. The person out back then laughs and continues to laugh every time his coworker said it wasn’t open. When i got up into the line to order popcorn and tickets, i look at the man and said you should put a sign up saying that the register is closed. The man looked at me with a blank stare aswell as the other guy and rudely checked me out. I’ve heard this cinema is family operated and if they don’t care about the people or wanting to be there maybe they shouldn’t be working in a position that deals with people 24/7."
"My first impression was the theater itself smelled like farts, an air freshener would have been nice. But eventually you become nose blind to it. Also it seemed like a teenage girl came into the theater specifically to chew popcorn as loud as possible. I didn't know it was possible for chewing popcorn to be that loud but it was echoing throughout the theater. It sounded like a horse eating a bag of carrots. She must have been eating one piece at a time because she made it last for the entire movie. Never in my life have I made popcorn last the entire movie."
"While visiting on vacation, on Monday we attempted to see a matinee at the theater after reading online and the night before on their website the times. On arrival, and after waiting with several other people, because the doors were locked, we were informed that effective that day they changed their hours. Ok.. a pain, but what are you going to do. Friday we go back to watch the matinee we had wanted to see, excited because the website said it was a special day and movie tickets were $4. Arrived and went in. Very dark and gloomy lobby and strange setting. No one was at the ticket booth but the gentleman at the candy counter said we could buy the tickets there. We told him what we wanted and immediately he was all flustered and calling for help because he said something looked strange. I asked if it showed the $4 ticket price and he said no. I pulled up the website and showed him the information there. When the man he asked for came, he told him it showed the discounted rate at the register and online- after telling me it didn’t! Mad typing ensued with the end result they would NOT honor the posted price. Did we still pay - yes - we weren’t going to let this spoil our day, and the movie was a matinee so at least not a huge cost. The movie was good, theater could use some upgrades for sure. Paint and better not worn out seats would do wonders. Even the small place near our home has stadium seating. But most of all they could use a class or two on customer service! Would I go back next time we are here? Based only on the customer service, no."
"The Mt. Valley Mall Theater exudes old-world charm, taking you on a nostalgic journey to the classic days of moviegoing. The smaller theaters evoke an intimate atmosphere, harking back to a time when the focus was on the film itself. This cozy setting allows for a more immersive movie experience, as you're enveloped by the story unfolding on screen. What's truly refreshing is the reasonable concessions pricing. In a world where movie snacks can often break the bank, the Mt. Valley Mall Theater keeps things down-to-earth. You can enjoy your favorite treats without feeling like you're emptying your wallet, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the outing. The combination of the vintage ambiance and the wallet-friendly concessions creates an overall experience that's thoroughly satisfying. You're transported to a time when moviegoing was less about extravagance and more about the pure joy of cinema. If you're yearning for a simpler, more authentic movie theater experience, the Mt. Valley Mall Theater is the perfect destination to step back in time and relive the magic of the silver screen."
