"I came in looking for window film and when I got there I found out they did mechanics as well. I had them do a brake inspection which was free and they recommend I change my front pads and rotors. He gave me a price and I did it with them right then and there. Very good quality of work. I also already scheduled my window film and even a remote start with them"
"I stopped by with my remote start not working that I did with company they brought my car inside the garage and then quickly fixed the remote start. I also mentioned that I had a hole in my exhaust and the also fixed that as well. He charged me a fair price and I will definitely go back to do more jobs. Very helpful and professional."
"I WAS TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF! I didn't go with 1 star because ultimately I agreed to the price and the work was done. I purchased a remote starter for xmas for my wife's car. I did a ton of research and chose the one I did because it was literally plug and play - no programming, just insert their wiring harness (3 plugs) in between the car and the existing wiring harness. It uses the factory key fob which requires no programming either. The entire process literally should have taken 15-20 minutes (and ultimately did). I was going to do it myself. I started working on it at the house. Had to remove the glove box (took 2 minutes), a passenger side underdash panel (took 30 seconds). Next step was to pull the 3 factory plugs out that were up inside the dash. I quickly realized, I could not get my hand up into that space and get a grip on these plugs. I did not want to pull on the wires, couldn't get a tool in there, etc. So I called Smart Way. The man that answered said "c'mon down - we'll take a look at it". They were not familiar with the product I purchased. I left the house right away and I arrived shortly thereafter. When I arrived, the salesman had his service manager come out to talk to me. The first thing he said was "we don't install customer parts"! Why was I told to come down!! He agreed to come outside and look at the car. As mentioned, I still had the glove box and dash panel removed allowing for some time saving and to show him what needed to be done. Oddly, he asked me what I thought it was worth for the labor? Knowing how long I thought it would take them (15 minutes or less) including putting the dash back in, I said $50 cash (i.e. $200/hr). He laughed at me. I said $100. He began to tell me that they get $250 labor alone to install remote starters (but not this type). I asked him how long it would take to do the work I needed done - he said "doesn't matter - you are paying for our expertise"! That's when i should have drove away!! I knew all I needed was smaller hands!! I let my common sense get away from me and agreed to $150. They took the car in to the bay, and I could hear the car shut off. Less than 15 minutes later, I heard the car running again. I knew they were done. I was really hoping, and frankly expecting him to say they wanted something less than $150. I was paying $600/hour for work they did! Again, I had agreed so I wasn't going to argue the price. When I went out to the car after the work was done, I was shocked to see the dash still apart!! WHAT!? $150 for 15 minutes of work and they couldn't take the 2 minutes to put the dash back!!! I could have put it back myself but that wasn't the point. Besides the outrageous charge, I didn't know I needed to say can you put the dash back! I had saved them time by leaving the dash out. I went back in to ask them why the dash wasn't put back - he said "you took the dash out". So, was he going to try and charge more to spend 60 more seconds on this? He begrudgingly put it back in after arguing. I'm sure they had a good laugh at my expense for ripping me off after I left. I asked the guy who brought the car back out front how they did it (removed the plugs) he said "small hands"!! No special tools, no "expertise". This business is obviously very short-sighted and is only interested in top dollar not relationships. I mentioned to the sales guy that I wanted to replace a stereo in another car that would be a high end piece. I'LL NEVER GO BACK THERE. You gouged me and you lost future business and affected your reputation for $150. I have 3 vehicles that I'd like to have aftermarket work done. It won't be at Smart Way. Lesson learned. Don't be impatient and impulsive. Shop around."
"Best place to go to have any work done on your vehicle. I won’t go anywhere else anymore! They do it right the first time and have outstanding customer service. Discounts for law enforcement too, you can’t go wrong with Smart Way!"
"These guys man super helpful. Installed sub/amp in the back, 4 new door speakers, two new dash tweeters. They were great with tuning everything and equalizing so I could get the best out of my speakers. Super patient with my pickiness too."
