"A great escape from the mainland. A 1 hour ferry ride, and you are delivered to the town of New Shoreham. Walk to the beach, great restaurants, shopping and outdoor adventures of all kinds. Charter a fishing Captain."
"It's one of the most amazing spots you can visit."
"Block Island Ferry is the best way of traveling to Block Island. You can purchase your tickets in advance simply by using their website. Or you can purchase tickets at the port. If you want to bring your car, call in advance. The ferry has a full bar and snacks to help make the trip go just a bit faster. There are plenty of seats to choose from."
"Such a cute little island. It's perfect for a day trip or weekend trip in the summer. I do not suggest biking there if you're not in shape. The non major roads are all hills and saw several people having to walk their bikes all over the place. And there are no official bike trails. They do rent little 2 person mopeds though which are PERFECT if you're not physically ready for biking up hills all day. You need to pass a driving test to rent, but they are so worth it. I saw people of all ages enjoying the ride around the island. It's also better for places a car can't get to. There's lots of little beaches around you can bike, drive, or ride a moped to. The water is perfect and clear. But if you don't like sea life, fair warning: there are a ton of clear algae that look like invisible worms. There's a lot of small shops and galleries too. Lots of little places to eat and of course, ice cream. Be sure to get in line for the ferry home a little more than 15 minutes early though. The lines start to get really long."
"Beautiful island with lots of activities, sights and food choices. Its a great weekend destination and not far from the mainland. Highly recommended!!"
