"Truly sad when a dishwasher “technician” has no clue what a rinse aid is used for. We had an issue with an LG dishwasher that we purchased through Lowe’s. The dishwasher would not clean at all. The food that was left after scrapping the plates would still be on as if we didn’t even run it. I called Lowe’s and they dispatched Tom with Rick’s Appliances to look it. He came late Friday and didn’t have a flashlight to look at it. We ran a load before he came so he could see the issue. The “rise aid” light was on and he asked if we filled it, my wife said no we do not want to use chemicals. He said he had the info and would call LG. Tuesday Tom called us and said LG told him that a rinse aid is required to work properly. I tried to explain that the issue is not with a rinse aid. He provide me a case # to call LG. After calling LG they confirmed that a rise-aid IS NOT REQUIRED, that it clearly shows it is recommended not required. I called Lowe’s back and they setup another appointment for Rick’s to come and fix it. Well, Tom decided to cancel the appointment because, “I will not get paid if I came out because the issue is the rinse aid. You will have to call a new service provider.” I asked him if he really even knew what a rinse aid did. I thought since he was a dishwasher tech that I would not have to explain that all a rinse aid is used for is to help DRY the dishes. It is really a DRYING AID. Sadly, I should have realized what I was in for after he told me how he replaced a water pump in a LG that ended up being the discharge hose being turned the wrong way. The flapper valve was hooked to the DEW side. I wonder who paid for that screw-up."

"Was completely ripped off. I called because the ice maker in my refrigerator wasn't working and my freezer was warmer than usual. I had to call Rick's because I have an LG appliance and apparently not just anyone can repair an LG. LG gave me the name of this shop to use. Repairman was nice enough, but misdiagnosed my refrigerator. He replaced the ice maker and told me I also needed to replace my motherboard and fix my interior lights. Thankfully, LG granted me free repairs on the motherboard and lights - but the lights don't work at all now! Back to my ice maker. Paid $453 for a new ice maker. Guess what? Still doesn't work. My freezer is even warmer now, so I called back and had the repairman come out for a FOURTH time. This time, he tells me it's the compressor. OK, so wait a minute, I am having all of the same problems I was having before you replaced the ice maker, and now you are telling me it's the compressor? So maybe it was the compressor all along and I didn't need a new ice maker, right? No, I'm being told this is a NEW problem and I absolutely needed a new ice maker. Funny, the new ice maker doesn't even work and it's doing the same thing as the old ice maker, making me believe it was the compressor all along. I fought with the repairman who was adament I needed a new ice maker and said I needed to call LG. That was his excuse to get out of there since there is absolutely nothing LG can do for me. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! All my emails to them have gone unanswered."

"Beware of this appliance place! BETTER NOT DEAL with this place! * Terrible service quality and policy. * Service personnel did not even have basic skills / knowledge in order to do the job. * Will not stand by their service. Absolutely no warranty on service. If you care for details: My refrigerator stopped cooling one day and I scheduled a service with this appliance place. They charged me $139 just for the guy to show up. Service guy comes over and diagnosed the issue. He could not pin point to the problem. He said it could be mostly temperature control board OR Freon leak. But he had no way to tell if its definitely one or the other. He said he could install the part (control board) and then only he would know. If the new part does not fix issue, then it must be Freon leak. Knowing the options I had and the earliest I could get any service appointment, I gave him Ok to install the part. He then installed the part later that day and charged me $186 for part plus labor charge ($50 for first 20 min and then $2 per min there after). He took quite a while to install it. First try in his install went bad as he misaligned buttons. But the guy did not test buttons before packing everything in its place. So he had to disassemble everything again and align buttons. Second time he managed to break one of refrigerator bins while installing control board. Ultimately few hours after install and even a day later fridge did not cool. So it was not the issue with control board. I requested them to consider refunding me for the part and take the part back. Interestingly Rick's appliances would not take the part back. Later I called electrolux parts and their service numbers and both places customer service said that person who sold the part and installed should be able to take it back. Especially if the part is new and if that was not the reason for refrigerator failure then it doesn't make sense that they would make the customer pay for it for the mis-diagnosis on service. On the other hand, Rick's appliances did try to sell me a new refrigerator saying they would try and offset cost on price of new refrigerator. I will never give sales or service business to this place again and DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone !!"
