"Wow, what a place! Very much enjoyed my time at Sunset Lodge. It is a great place to reconnect with nature, and create special moments with family and close friends. The location is expansive. Beautiful, versatile grounds. Multiple cabins and lodges. The main lodge is built with leisure in mind. Pool table, ping pong, games…massive kitchen and dining/living areas. Masssssssive covered and screened deck with a table that can comfortably seat a football team; all overlooking a beautiful lake. Bedrooms and bathrooms all over the place. Plenty of room to have a big group stay, and concurrently have enough private/smaller spaces for individual quiet time/sleep settings. Are the rooms and amenities the four seasons, no. But we weren’t really looking for that. Cool wood throughout. Some unique art and other decorations around. The place def has a vibe! In our experience the best part of this place was the outdoors. Beautiful lawns, a fun deck, a sandy private beach all on an amazing lake. Plenty of equipment to enjoy the water available. I highly recommend the kayaks!!! It was just perfect. The owners are great, friendly, and fair. Made everything easy, fun, and affordable. Thanks Noah! We are spoiled. This was like having a private lake retreat for all for us!! We hope to be back soon."
"Wow! Simply an amazing location, and a place to relax and let the pressures of life drain away. If you're looking for a city vacation with all the amenities and 3 kinds of fusion takeout within a 5 minute walk, this is not the place for you. This is where you come to get away from that, to smell fresh air, listen to a light wind whispering through the trees, and when the breeze dies down, to hear the little waves lapping against the beach and the dock. Go for a mid-day kayak (they have kayaks and canoes that you can take out), across the lake or along the shore. Come back and make a cocktail, and sit out on an Adirondack chair and watch the sun set directly across the lake. As it darkness falls, listen to the loons calling to each other (might freak you out the first time you hear them!). Then wake up the next morning and look out over a lake so still, there is not a single ripple on the water. As for living conditions, the pantry is stocked, and once you go to the grocery store to pick up your fruits, meats, and veggies, you'll have everything you need to live well! Clearly a lot of thought has been put into selecting furnishings and quality items from all around, creating a feeling of eclectic coziness. There is a small library and board games area, but also a full size game room with table tennis and a pool table. There is an espresso grinder from back when things were built to last, that I'd bet Starbucks would pay good money to get their hands on. And if you do need the internet, there is all the hot and cold running electricity and broadband you could need. You just won't need it, because being out here, you'll forget you live in a world of 6 billion people."
"Phenomenal spot for large families. It's what I would call "rustic" in the true sense of the word, but you can't beat the venue on the lake. It's only a seasonal place that looks like it was built from the remnants of a flea market, but that has it's perks: a kitchen that is fully stocked with lots of random dishes, utensils (even some of grandmas silverware), and multiple fridges and dishwashers. It's got some interesting art and themed cabins throughout. This place is built for groups and it's clear many have been there, so it felt like the home of a 20-person family with kids of all ages. There's tons of games, puzzles and a...VCR(!). The outdoor patio seated our entire crew, which was amazing. It never felt over crowded with 20+ people. I think the spiders keep the mosquitoes at bay, but be prepared to shower with a spider or two. Also bring a mattress pad (or extra bourbon), the mattresses are probably 40 years old and pretty awful. Also would have been nice if they had a permanent dock. The moorings broke loose on a windy day, which was eventful. All in all, I would absolutely stay here again with a large family group, but it doesn't inspire you into thinking daily showers are productive. It's more on the level of a grand camp with lots of extra perks."
"Excellent! Super friendly & helpful"
