Newcastle Inn

"I was just looking into booking a stay at this location for my boss and his family and came upon some interesting and very important information that isn't made very clear on their website. They DO NOT accommodate families larger than 4 people PERIOD. Additionally, if you are a couple traveling with a child, one adult will have to stay with the child in one room while the other adult stays in a SEPARATE room per their "insurance policies maximum capacity"."

"Carolyn and Liz are absolutely top notch hosts at this lovely, charming b&b! They are truly kind, accommodating and personable. The inn is very nicely appointed with attractive fixtures and furnishings. We enjoyed their use of rich colors throughout. There are plenty of cute common spaces to relax and they even have a rustic bar! The full breakfasts and fresh coffee were quite tasty, and there were always cold drinks in the mini fridge as well as Keurig coffees and a kettle for a selection of teas available. Staying in the carriage house, you can definitely hear the creaking of people going up and down the steps, and also the doors and voices from rooms next door. Water pressure in the shower was great and no real wait for hot water. The location was perfect - just under a 20 minute walk into downtown Damariscotta and a short drive to Boothbay Harbor. We loved our stay!"

"If you want the perfect place to stay in Central Maine this is the place. From the time you pull in they make you feel like family. Rooms are super clean, Breakfast is great and the staff who serves breakfast were outstanding. Close to Boothbay and not far from Rockland."

"My husband and I stayed July23-27 in room 116 the bedroom facing the front. Our bedroom and bathroom was very clean . I gave the room 4 stars due to a musty odor. Kept the ac running helped. I was able to have bran cereal and fruit which I put in the request info for our reservation. Our breakfasts were eye appealing, nutritious and filling. Everything was made fresh. Carolyn and Liz have made this bed and breakfast an outstanding place and the back deck overlooks the beautiful yard and flower beds and a part of the Damariscotta River."

"I spent five nights at this wonderful Inn. Carolyn & Liz, the owners, were excellent inn keepers. They were friendly & accommodating. The breakfasts were delicious (very good coffee, too), & the service from their staff was top-notch. The Inn was lovely, clean, & well-kept - both inside and out. I was traveling solo & Carolyn & Liz were both so kind - offering to help with my luggage when arriving & departing. The common spaces were great to hang out in. The porch, deck, & backyard were fabulous. I love the option to have wine...& you can make coffee, tea, or hot cocoa at anytime. It was great to be within walking distance of restaurants & also, easy drives to nearby, beautiful areas like Boothbay Harbor & Camden. I highly recommend the Newcastle Inn & would love another visit there!"
