"Couldn't think of a better place to land after my '22 AT thru-hike. Gail is a wonderful person as well as a great host. Recommended 10/10"
"Gale, is a fantastic person who understands and supports the needs of Backpackers. This is a great place to hang with other Backpackers and a short distance from an excellent restaurant to take on some calories. Gail can drive you from to wherever you need to go and she also will cache food for you at the Hundred Mile wilderness"
"I have to say that Gail and Company are wonderful to work with. As a local Guide myself, we've collaborated on several trips over the last couple years and her shuttle service is always reliable, on time and helpful with the finer details! Thanks so much for adding your special touches to our cold refreshment needs after an epic hike on a hot day! Thanks Gail!"
"We stayed there before and after hiking the 100 Mile Wilderness. Gail is amazing and wonderful - she was willing to drive us all over the place, pick us up at 8 pm after hiking Katahdin and wait at the Scootic In while we picked up our take-out dinner. There's laundry at the inn, very clean bathrooms (shared) and a shared kitchen with fridge, microwave, and toaster. Met lots of friendly people at the inn too, and it was so nice to talk to all of them about their hiking experiences (afaik they were also all hikers). Gail also does a food drop in the 100MW so you don't have to carry all your food for the whole hike and it was really easy, a bear box hidden in the woods so you don't have to schedule a time to meet her and your food is safe until you arrive. Highly recommend!"
"Wonderful place, I stayed about a year ago after finishing the AT. My friends and I got off of Katahdin later than anticipated, and the lovely folks at this hostel had no trouble driving all the way into Baxter to pick us up after sunset, and even brought us to McDonald’s on our way into town. So much kindness every step of the way. Just how I’d like to end the AT if I did it again."
