"Stayed here after hiking Katahdin earlier in the day. Originally had plans to camp but between the exhaustion poor weather decided to try and find a room nearby. Upon receiving cell phone service, we found The Gathern Inn and called. To our amazement, they had availability for the evening (it was already almost 7pm). We were greeted upon our arrival, shown the available rooms, told a little bit about the place and breakfast the following morning and then left to ourselves. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was delicious and the place was overall well kept. If I am back in the area, I would stay here again and would recommend staying here to others."

"Lovely B+B near Baxter State Park in upstate Maine. Entire home is gorgeously appointed and inviting, guest rooms are clean and comfortable, and the innkeeper for our stay (Tracy) was a warm and accommodating host. The neighborhood is quiet, there is plenty of parking space on property, and checking in/out was effortless. Best surprise of the visit was the tremendous breakfast Tracy cooked for us in the morning; you will not leave here hungry, I promise."

The proprietor Erika is an amazing host who offers excellent food, service, and conversation. She keeps her property immaculately clean to boot. If you are in the area, you would be missing out if you didn't stay here and enjoy her wonderfully appointed historic home and its beautiful rooms and common spaces."
