"Disclaimer: I didn't actually step foot in this place. I'll tell you why now I never will and advise my friends/family who vacation in Rangeley to do the same. The shopkeeper seemed unstable after he was seen running out of the shop & screaming at 2 girls with a dog (who took a small tinkle on a piece of grass by the sidewalk). The man was belligerent and extremely unkind. There was no politely asking about it. Apparently does not care too much about making business or a reputation. We spoke with 1 of the girls when we spotted them at a different shop down the street...she was a higher up in a big household name corporation visiting from NYC. Willing to spend money in a town that's clearly struggling. The dog was as friendly as can be...had to laugh when we saw a sign put up the next day in front of the cranky old man's shop that said "Dogs welcome!" Nice try- but the dog owners already heard you loud and clear buddy."
