"I’ve been trying to call for weeks to schedule an appointment and they have not picked up once. I call at 10 o’clock in the morning and get nothing, absolutely horrible"
"I have gone to Kittery Family Practice since 1979 when they were located on Shapleigh Rd. I have seen my current PCP for the last 6 yrs - Dr. Heather Moher. Loved her from the first visit. She takes time to go over all my concerns. I never feel rushed. She has a very pleasant and friendly bedside manner. I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews. I have never had a bad experience at Kittery Family Practice."
"I have been going here for years as they are the closest place in my network and it gets worse every year. I can never get an appt. with my Dr. Its always multiple months out if at all. They mess up my scheduling, they mess up my records, they never get back to me when I need it. I like my Dr., but as a whole this place is a joke."
"I can rarely get to see a doctor or any PCP when I need to. I have hade to go to urgent care every time I need to see someone other than annual checkups. I then have to pay a lot more than my $5 co-pay. Why do I have a pcphere if I can't get to see one??? Looking for a new practice. Also every single PCP IVE HAD LEAVES AFTER A COUPLE OF YEARS. IM DONE!"
"I had been experiencing long-term knee pain for unknown reasons. I was unable to schedule an appointment with my PCP in a timely fashion, so I went ahead with one of the nurse practitioners. Their questions and testing were inconclusive, so per my request they wrote a referral to the associated physical therapy location in Kittery. I went there a couple times (pricey) and they were unable to figure out the source of the pain. Their prescribed exercises I was instructed to follow did not help. With the pain continuing to impact my daily living, I requested another appointment with my PCP. Again, unavailable, so I met with a different doctor there. I told them about my pain and my concerns, and they looked up how to do a test on YOUTUBE while I was there to try and determine the source of the pain. They were very uncertain about how to do this test correctly, and sure enough their findings were inconclusive. I asked if an MRI would help to determine the source of the pain and they agreed, but stated I would need an Xray first for insurance to cover some of the MRI cost. I knew I didn't need an Xray, but went along with what the "professionals" had to say. Sure enough, the Xray found nothing. MRI found nothing. The interpretation of the MRI suggested nothing. Over $2,000 in medical bills for NOTHING. I shared the MRI findings with a family friend who is an orthopedic surgeon, and their first recommendation was to take Advil to reduce inflammation. This helped to an extent. Kittery Family Practice neglected to offer this simple suggestion. I told my cousin, who was a college soccer player, about the findings and the injury, he suggested (for free) a stretch that instantly started to help alleviate the pain I was experiencing. Lastly, I was referred by my wife to a really good, local masseuse who has knowledge of sports injuries. Immediately upon describing to the masseuse the pain I was experiencing she was able to confidently say it was likely my sartorius causing pain. A $120 massage provided me extraordinary relief. It is outrageous that despite so many specialists at Kittery Family Practice meeting with me, they were unable to provide any actual insight to the source of my pain. I went in for an appointment today (which easily could have just been a ten minute phone call to discuss a change in a prescription) and voiced my concerns. They essentially told me that it would have been better to just have gone to an orthopedist as they (KFP) are just general practitioners and don't have the specific knowledge. They were dismissive of my concerns and concluded "it's just how the health system is," and agreed that it's broken. Kitteyr Family Practice has demonstrated they are unprofessional, uninformed, and GREEDY."
