"I am re-editing my review since ive had time to process. I only have experience with a First Floor patient. (3 floors=3 different diagnoses on each) Sorry for the lengthy review, but it would of helped eaze me when going through this with a loved one if i had been informed. *First if a person wants mental health help right away they can call 988 that avoids them having to go to hospital via ambulance get evaluated then wait in an ER possibly for days for a bed. Instead they will get a bed sooner and start treatment quicker. * At this place as a visitor, you are required to leave all your belongings in a locker including a cell phone before visiting. Due to limited visiting rooms there's a 30 minute max visiting time for each visit. I was told i could not wear my hooded sweatshirt in to the visit even though it was cold. (Their reason is that it's bulky & had potential to hide something in it.) Understandable. So dress appropriately. Outside food and snacks must be in original sealed wrapper and MAY or MAY NOT be allowed depending on who is working at the front desk. This was a very grey area, I don't know why it was like this, or if it has changed since. Each staff member i interacted with all had diffrent roles and attitudes. Some were great some not so great. But for the most part, understand they are stressed possibly more than us because they are there for 8+ hours a day. I found that they welcomed a smile and responded the same, even though it was a tough time, there was always a better outcome if i was just simply pleasant and did not allow my frustrations to show . Compliant i guess. After about 4 days i was able to contact a case manager. She was excellent at her job, however after calling for several days and not getting results and being told conflicting messages the case manager was able to do a confrence call and gave me the straight information. Overall i believe this was due to a lack of coordination on staff. Below is my original review before edit. i called inquiring about paperwork. Im told i must ask in person. Next day i call asking if patients are allowed snacks from outside , I was told yes i can bring food in for patient, im told visiting hours are 8-8 pm. I go there at 4 pm and im told visiting hours are 1-3 & 6-8pm mon - fri so i leave a bag of snacks, & come back in 2 hrs. Sit in room with patient for 30 minutes. Patient asked if i got paperwork done, i ask the moniter in hall about it, she informs me visiting time is up. i was not informed by anyone only 30 minute visit is allowed. Upon leaving i ask about hours again and im told no there is not two sets of hours during the week. Its only 1-3 weekdays. 30 min visit only. After my visit i ask about the paperwork & im told no I cant do it on weekends, i must call on phone Monday to make appointment to fill out papers. Then come in to actually fill out papers. All clothing brought into patients whether brand new or not the staff checks them and washes them all before giving to the patient. My observation was this place is more for people with addiction and substance problems. I would not recommend this place for a person that has mental health troubles only and not drug or alcohol struggles since staff is continually addressing those in demand right away ie: at times not a calm enviroment. . There was more too. It was very sad confusing and stressful. Updated note* Regarding ambulance, & police, They certainly earned a compliment here. I observed a HUGE change in the way police, ER hospital staff and all others that interacted and responded to he patient during the 911 response. Patient & myself were treated with respect, understanding and compassion. They were slow moving ,not constantly holding their weapon, looking like they were on high alert, verbally explained everything before making a move. Those kind of actions made a world of difference in the outcome and experience."
"Absolutely horrible, rude and unprofessional staff here"
"Love how helpful the staff is when they listen to my problems and give me positive ways to reciprocate my negative emotions"
