Reviews of MelroseWakefield Breast Health Center
"I cannot provide a good review. I felt this place only cares about money, and did not provide good service."
"Very thorough but didn’t keep me there all day. Great, knowable staff!"
"Though the doctor here has been exceptional, the scheduling department is abysmal. I have been coming here for years, and they’ve changed appointments at the last minute (like while I’m at the office, though they did mail me a letter to let me know(?!?) which came after the original appointment date), and other times they’ve forgotten to schedule me altogether. They’ve changed my practitioner, as if they are all interchangeable, and feel no need to tell me until I am already in the office, which makes dealing with insurance real fun. I have never waited longer in a doctor’s office anywhere else than I have here. I genuinely need to take a full day off to get a mammogram. If you find yourself in the unfortunate predicament of needing their services, I have full faith you are in good medical hands. If not and you are just routinely getting checked, I highly suggest going elsewhere if possible."
"Had. To have a mamogram then an ultrasound then a biopsy found cancer but i felt very valm that i was in good hands explained everything ..waiting for more tests before mastectomy still feel that the drs and nurses therr are great"
"Although my doctor is affiliated with this place, and I absolutely adore her and fully trust her opinions and suggestions, I have vowed to never go back to this facility for any further care. I had a health scare at the end of last year, so I saw the nurse practitioner through my doctor's office. Although at that time, she felt as though I had benign changes, we agreed on pursuing some imaging for peace of mind. At this appointment, she told me that she would be ordering an ultrasound, but they may end up having to do a mammogram as well. That would have been fine and dandy if that's where it stayed. Her assistant booked an appointment for me, assuring me that it was just for an ultrasound--no mammogram needed. When I got there, that was not the case. I was told I had to have the mammogram first because that's how they did it there. I'm prone to panic attacks, so this did not settle my mind at all... and I spent the better part of the following hour struggling to maintain my composure as I felt like I couldn't breathe. I was forced to sit in a waiting room behind a locked door, feeling rather exposed due to the clothing that they give you during the waiting period. I felt like we were cattle. The imaging tech was not very compassionate, telling me that she goes through this every year and it's nothing to worry about... and while she's in the middle of collecting the images, asked me what surgeon I'm going to be seeing. I can assure you that did not sit very well with my already panicked mind. After all this, I finally had the ultrasound which I had originally gone for and confirmed what we were already suspecting. So now, I'm out almost $1,000 more than I had planned on because of a test that my nurse practitioner didn't even order. I'm in the medical field myself, and agree that the nurse practitioner was ordering an appropriate test for what the suspicions were. Needless to say, as I said in the start of this post, I will not be returning here. A little compassion would have gone a long way."
