"How you do here is really going to depend on who your PCP is. Mine is wonderful and will work around the limitations of the actual clinic. Please keep in mind that our healthcare system is slowly collapsing around us. A lot of the very best people, from aides to nurses to doctors, are leaving healthcare."
"Make sure to check the patient site- I caved and set up an account recently and found that tests I had requested 2 years ago had never been done, I had just gotten a letter in the mail saying everything was ok at that time. So last week, I made another appointment, said hey these tests I wanted 2 years ago were never done and I'd like them done now. My doctor said she wouldn't test everything, just a couple things she thought would be best. I tried to push back to get all the tests, but she insisted. One of the levels is out of whack, maybe it has been for 2 years, and when you look up the associated condition, it has a series of tests to perform, including some of which that I had asked for 2 years ago and was denied of twice now. When I mentioned this to my PCP she said its not in her expertise. So instead of referring me right away to someone who does know anything about it, she pretending she could do it herself... Be your own advocate, these people don't care."
