Reviews of O'Connor Professional Group
"Unsympathetic, uninformed, unprofessional, uninterested, undereducated, undeserving, uninvolved, unmotivated, unwilling, unresponsive. And that’s just a few descriptors starting with U. Don’t walk away from these bottom dwellers, run!"
"I can not say enough about Erin’s responsiveness with helping to coordinate care. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable, but she was very compassionate and provided much needed support during a very difficult situation. We were on a very tight timeframe to coordinate care, and she was able to provide several viable options and solutions to us. She was available to speak with at all times, even reaching out and responding to questions over the weekend giving the urgency of the situation. She seamlessly transitioned our son to a program within days and took charge of the arrangements that needed to happen alleviating a tremendous amount of stress for my family. She was patient in answering our numerous questions and helped reassure us and support us through the entire process. She continues to be an amazing liaison and advocate for our family."
"Snake oil salesfolk who give you hope, take huge amounts of money, and do not deliver or seem to care about anything except that you pay your giant bill. Don’t waste your time - it’s so tempting to believe in the picture they sell of comprehensive, compassionate support, but they don’t seem to have a clue what clinicians are up to, and when it goes south they blame the entire failure on the patient, despite their own unsound clinical practices. Maybe they WERE doing all the right things 4-5 years ago when the reviews seem good, but now they are just another cog in the rehab-industrial complex, preying on the mentally-ill and their families and barely delivering substandard care, much less the “concierge” care they promise."
"Incredible team of people. I’m a psychiatrist in Providence and we have had amazing experiences with the O’Connor Professional Group. If your family is struggling and needs more support around mental health, eating disorders, autism spectrum disorders and/or addiction, I can recommend OPG without reservation."
"I contracted with the O’Connor Group to help my son. He previously went through 9 months of rehab and needed help ‘launching’. We didn’t know he was drinking again. Alcoholics are great liars. He needed help. Their consultation ($2500) stated working on “executive functions support (e.g., time management, organization,…)” , “creating and maintaining a wellness schedule focusing on sleep hygiene, nutrition and exercise”, “helping to locate and secure a volunteer opportunity, internship or part time employment”. During the time O’Connor was working with him I brought to their attention that I thought he was drinking and they informed me that they did not see evidence of that. For over 5 months the schedule was 2-hour sessions twice a week at $300/hour plus travel time. That came to $1200 for each visit with travel time - $2400/week. It would have been nice to have a person who lived closer. Then there was $300/hour for phone calls as well. They also insisted that he see a psychologist and a psychiatrist. You can do the math. Result: My son was drinking the whole time. In late June he went into serious withdrawal and had to be hospitalized for a week to detox. He is now in a long term rehab. After he entered rehab I went to his apartment. In my opinion there was no way the case manager who visited my son at his apartment saw that room or used that bathroom. Dirty clothes everywear, 2+ years of unopened mail in a variety of places, bathroom was soiled, stained and filthy. Beer bottles and cans were hidden in the laundry basket. Dirt and dust, glasses, silverware on various surfaces, prescription meds that he never took. A horror. I got nothing for all the time and money spent."
