Reviews of Peak Performance Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine
"Before coming here I was experiencing a lot of pain in both my shoulders and lower back. I'm a dog walker, and the pain was significantly impacting my daily life. I never tried physical therapy before, and was surprised how well it really works. I worked with Eric Leach, who has helped me and taught me SO much. Now I can work without any pain at all. Eric also gave me a lot of great tips to help me out with my daily workouts, and has made movements (like push ups) that I thought would never be possible, possible. I wish I came here sooner! I highly recommend coming here for anyone looking to do PT and/or personal training. It has been a real game changer for me."
"I highly recommend Eric and the rest of the team at Peak Performance. I saw Eric Leach at Peak Performance this past fall for Physical therapy for achilles tendon issues in both legs. Eric was exceptional; he personalized the plan, gave clear instructions, and he often discussed new things he learned in literature/conferences/etc, so I always felt like I was getting top care. He explained the root cause of the issue, what science says about effective recovery, and the most important things I need to do regularly for treatment and prevention. He even identified some biomechanical issues I have that might have contributed (knees caving in when jumping and running) and told me how to go about correcting that. Thanks to Eric I am able to run regularly again, and all pain is gone. Most importantly, though, I know what I have to keep doing to protect my tendons from injury, and how to address pain if and when it resurfaces."
"I'd absolutely recommend anyone that is looking for PT to go here! A non-comprehensive but long list of reasons why: 1) I decided to go to Peak Performance when I wanted to become more active but knew that my previous ACL surgery which I had rehabbed before, was limiting me. I was nervous and anxious about going back to PT, I used to be extremely active and I no longer was so was worried I'd be judged. That was far from the truth. I worked with Eric and right away in our first appointment, I felt very welcomed and encouraged. I have always had doctors and health care professionals only focus on my weight as the source of my health issues - and while that might be the case in some contexts - I am often left feeling lost because not many providers go further than telling me to lose weight. When I shared this and told Eric that focusing on my weight was never something that motivated me or often felt detrimental, he had no issue with focusing on so many other metrics to help me improve. In addition to getting me stronger, Eric also gave me resources and tips on nutrition and other relevant topics! 2) I also selected Peak Performance because of their facility. I knew I wanted to lift weights and the equipment they have is awesome. A good number of racks and weights, regular barbells, trap bars, functional machines, and the mats (also a Jiu Jitsu studio) - I knew I would have access to equipment (and space) I might not find at my gym all the time. Location wise, too, Peak Performance is close to me in Medford but they are in a great location right on Mass Ave near Rte 16 on the Arlington/Cambridge line. Really close to the bike path, too. 3) The vibes! Immaculate! I got along with Eric from the start and was excited to work with him and as I kept up with PT, I got to know the other PTs and staff at Peak Performance. The whole team, Nicole, Katie, Cassie, Eric, and Jeff are all awesome. So often when I'd come in another PT would comment on my progress (which boosted my ego) and kept me coming back. I also loved seeing the Jiu Jitsu classes happening during some of my sessions and am even going to trying out Jiu Jitsu soon through Mass BJJ at the same location. Additionally, this vibe doesn't just include the other PTs - it transfers to the patients too - so often I'd end up chatting and working out alongside other patients because the environment naturally led us to chatting with each other. The environment that the staff at Peak Performance cultivates is truly one I will miss but am ecstatic to have gotten to a point, with the help of Eric, where I can 'graduate' from PT and craft an exercise routine that works for me. Can't say enough good things about this place!"
"I had a bicycle accident that affected the range of motion in my shoulder. Therefore, I needed a physical therapist who was able to understand the importance and level of mobility I needed to regain to return to sports. So, I decided to start physical therapy at Peak Performance Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine. It was the right decision! The atmosphere at the gym is friendly and relaxed. I started working with Eric Leach who from the beginning proved to be very knowledgeable and understood perfectly what I needed. Eric is professional, empathetic and a genuinely nice man. I am immensely grateful for his work and help. I have been able to get back to climbing, running and training in less than 2 months after having to stop for years! I highly recommend physiotherapy here and especially with Eric Leach."
"I did Physical Therapy at Peak Performance following an ACL tear and ACL reconstruction surgery. I worked with Eric Leach for nearly a year and he has been an amazing therapist. I felt like I had the perfect amount of personal attention and guidance throughout the process of healing from my surgery, which resulted in me making fantastic progress and being able to be back to all of the summer sports and activities that I was looking forward to. Eric is extremely attentive, friendly, and goes above and beyond for his clients. He progresses his clients with a personal approach and I never felt like he was pushing me too far or not enough. He is always encouraging and always made me feel like I was making progress or on the right track, so I never felt discouraged or like I shouldnt be coming back. The gym itself is very well kept, clean and has a ton of equipment for all sorts of excercises neccesary for recovery. I highly recommend Eric and the rest of the staff at Peak Performance for all your Physical therapy needs!!"
