"UPDATE: MEDICAL MASSAGE MARCH 2023. went in for my first medical massage today. Was curious about the difference between "spa" & "medical" massage. Also, a little nervous about having a male therapist for the first time. Bill was welcoming and calming..like someone you knew before. He almost answered my questions before i asked them. He asked where I wanted him to concentrate on and we went from there. You dont need to disrobe for Bill. He keeps you covered with a sheet or blanket and works thru them on your body. He did an assessment of my back, hips & legs and we agreed to work on hips & legs. Ive had other massages before targeting my hips & legs but Bill had his work cut out for him. He carefully worked those areas applying various pressures to loosen the muscles. My appointment was 1 hr long and he spent the majority of that time on my left hip & leg. Like all massages, i was sorry to hear my time was up. I could have stayed another hour! (Bill agreed. Probably still be on my hips). He was easy to talk to or offered silence if thats what you want! Starting in April, he said he will be there 4 1/2 times a week..ill let you guess which day he's only there 1/2 day. Accupunture; saw their ad on Facebook with remedies for neuropathy and since my recent back surgery, my feet have been burning. Have spoken to my "MD's" without finding relief. Since it isn't their feet..it isn't important. Anyway, I filled out the questionnaire on Facebook over the weekend and received a call early Monday morning to set up an appointment. I had a few questions which she answered and I gave her my health insurance info to check for coverage. She said she would call me back. She called back with good news regarding insurance about 11:45am. I had coverage with a small copay, did I want to schedule an appointment? Not realizing the time it was, I set the appt for 12:30pm in East Providence. I was in Swansea. I needed to hustle up to their office to be on time. I met with Dr Brenda who has extensive education in oriental medicine. She asked some questions about my health and then asked me to lay on the table. She began her exam then proceeded to apply the needles The first.needles hurt..they were bigger and stuck between my toes! She switched to a smaller needle for the rest of the treatment. It was so relaxing, I was close to sleeping. That night, I did not have the neuropathic pain in my feet! One treatment!! Dr Brenda has reviewed my medical conditions and has begun to treat them with Accupunture. The office in EP also offers medical massage."
